I haven't heard that Nas song before, Buck. I like it. That's not really in my musical wheelhouse, but sometimes I will hear a song though that I really like. I think I will have to download that one. That also reminds me of how amazing of a voice Amy Winehouse had. It's too bad her life was such a mess.

There are a lot of 2012 songs I like. I honestly am having a hard time thinking of an album that I have liked as much as some 2004-2011 albums in the indie atmosphere. Passion Pit and Walk the Moon are the only 2 I can think of that got close this year. I have a huge collection of great singles I liked, and some bands had an album with 2, maybe 3 great songs but I can't think of a great full album like an Arcade Fire album or some of the earlier works of a lot of bands that are on their 3rd or 4th.
Actually, as I type this, I'll put Babel by Mumford & Sons as #1 for lack of a better option. It was good.
Disappointments:
Helio Sequence
Temper Trap's new album was awful
Muse wasn't bad but wasn't great
Silversun Pickups = so-so
Killers
Crystal Castles, though I may need to give it more time was kinda meh
Stars - going further and further away from "Set Yourself on Fire" energy, instead 3/4 of the album soft duets with just a piano
Two Door Cinema Club's follow up was only OK.
There are probably more, but it was a disappointing year.
However, there were some great singles.
Passion Pit - Take a Walk (the album was solid)
Capital Cities - Safe and Sound
Walk the Moon - Anna Sun
Gaslight Anthem - "45"
Van She - Idea of Happiness
Probably a lot of others that I am not thinking of right now.
