Re: OT - General College Basketball
UCLA and Kyle Anderson in particular looked like crap against Georgetown. Throwing the ball all over the place, in to traffic, throwing his arms up, bad body language. Muhammad had a couple flashes, but inconsistent as to be expected.

Seems like he's been there forever. Looking forward to the Gonzaga / Saint Mary's games this year.

The fact that Carmelo Anthony is cracking jokes about your FGA has to sink in. 108 attempts? that's embarrassing. He said after the game something like it felt like everything he put up was going in....he shot less than 50% from the field. Again, that's embarrassing.

Re: OT - General College Basketball
Grinnell plays one of the most f'ed up systems in all of college basketball. I could have played there, a couple of guys that played after me at JMM did. This is what they do:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grinnell_College
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grinnell_College
Grinnell College's basketball team attracted ESPN due to the team's run and gun style of playing basketball, known in Grinnell simply as "The System." Coach David Arseneault's "system" incorporates a continual full-court press, a fast-paced offense, an emphasis on offensive rebounding, a barrage of three-point shots and substitutions of five players at a time every 35 to 40 seconds. This allows a higher average playing time for more players than the "starters" and suits the Division III goals of scholar-athletes. "The System" has been criticized for not teaching the principles of defense. However, under "The System," Grinnell has won three conference championships over the past ten years and have regularly placed in the top half of the conference. Coach Arseneault's teams have set numerous NCAA scoring records and several individuals on the Grinnell team have led the nation in scoring or assists.
On November 19, 2011 Grinnell player Griffin Lentsch set a new Division III individual scoring record in a game against Principia College. The 6-foot 4-inch guard scored 89 points, besting the old record of 77, also set by a Pioneers player - Jeff Clement - in 1998. Lentsch made 27 of his 55 shots, including 15 three-pointers as Grinnell won the high-scoring game 145 to 97.[46] On November 20, 2012 Grinnell's Jack Taylor broke Lentsch's scoring record, as well as the records for NCAA and collegiate scoring, in a 179-104 victory over Faith Baptist Bible. Taylor scored 138 points while Lentsch, the previous record holder, scored just seven.

Yeah it sounds like he was at UW-La Crosse but wasn't getting playing time so transferred to Grinnell. He threw up 71 3's, geesh. Pretty much like a video game, lol. It seems more like a novelty than a noteworthy accomplishment at this point.

100+ shots in a single game... that's wild. Good for him though.

Bryant: "Holy sh--. How many points did they score as a team?"
Reporter: "179."
Bryant: "What?!"
Reporter: "No other starter had double figures."
Bryant: "That's incredible."
Reporter: "Dude on the other team scored 71 points and lost."
Bryant: "That's amazing. He must have been wearing the Mambas, man. Only Mambas have no conscious [sic] to shoot the ball like that."
Reporter: "If you did that, would people be celebrating you?"
Bryant: "Would people be celebrating me if I scored 138 points? You know how it is, some people would, some people wouldn't. They can all kiss my a-- as I'm sure he feels the same way. If you score 138 points, you kind of have a license to tell people to f--- off."
