Yes, and his career production is fine.

So 9pts and 6 rebs is fine? For a $8 million a year player. You have seriously lost your mind.

His biggest strength is his ability to score. It always has been, and that won't change. So, his biggest strength is what he is so inefficient at. That is beyond unfortunate for us. It's not like he doesn't score efficiently but he we don't rely on him anyway so we deal with it. It's the opposite.

It was the right time to trade Bogut, but it was the wrong move.

Just as a comparison of Monta's defense.

Monta's defensive rating has been better or equal to Afflalo for the past three years. Now think about that.

I'm not the one living in box score land and ignoring minutes, you are.

I don't know how true this is, given our offensive ranks in most categories currently. Unless you're going to argue he's a catalyst behind our D, which I'd disagree with.

I think you could argue that his steals / speed are a big part of why we lead the NBA in fast break points / pace. And those easy baskets on the fast break are probably the only thing standing between us and an absolutely horrible offense given how we have been in the half court for much of the season.

If we could replace Monta with an efficient capable half court offensive player who was athletic enough to run the break I think we likely improve on both ends though.

The most relevant stat would be team D on vs. off.

No, your just ignoring production on the court.

at this point bogut is just an average big when hes healthy. his injurys are just prolonging his relevency. if he ever does get back on the court then hes gonna lose that too. udoh and sanders have brighter futures in this league then bogut and im glad im not a gs fan. theyve had it worse than us even.

Wait, seriously, was it like a week ago you had chucked Monta under the bus? Screw him, F him, he's a disgrace, screw them all, etc?

My god man.

im referencing the last 7 games. he sucked in the preseason and i thought wed bought more damaged goods. since then, along with the team, hes performed much better than we had projected.

remember... i dont have an agenda or reason to root against him like you do.

Bogut has some Yao going on as a big man, but I do believe he'll come back and the Warriors are taking their time with him. They're in no hurry.

Actually, I'm not. I just know what numbers to look at and realize a 7 game sample doesn't trump a 6,000 minute one.

You do realize that his career has been more than 7 games right?

Ummm, because defense is played as a team and how the opposing SG scores is not the only factor in D? The scoreboard is measured by how many points the team scores, no?

It's the same reason opponent PER isn't used by really anyone.

And Afflalo's offensive rating has been much better then Monta's, are we going to say he's a better offensive player?

No, you have an agenda to root for him being John Hammond's best North Carolinian friend. It's the same reason why you defended Bogut up until you chased him out of town with a pitchfork when he was traded.

ORTG and DRTG are almost completely subjective to the 5 man teams on the court. Single player ratings are pretty much useless unless they stray dramatically from the rest of the team.

Return to Milwaukee Bucks
