I don't hate him, and think he does some things well, but I think we would be much improved w/ a bigger 2 guard that's an outside threat. I could see Dallas trading for Monta. I'd be happy w/ something like Mayo, Beabouis and Kaman for Monta and Gooden.

Tough not to do this if your 7-8 games over 500 and trying to get a home court unless you get a guy back who can fill that position well. What would fans say if you trade him for young ones that can't contribute immediately and/or picks. I'm not saying it's the best long-term decision but I can certainly see going that route. I still believe the Bucks have little intention of keeping Monta long-term and I am 95% he will opt out barring injury.

11 players attempt > 5 long jumpers / gm (16-23 ft). Only Monta Ellis shoots them at < 38% - he's at 33%. #bucks

More Monta: he's shooting below NBA avg at all five ranges - at rim, 3-9 ft, 10-15, 16-23, + 3pt. His TS% last 4 yrs: 54%, 52%, 49%, 48%.

Yes, you have to get a good, ready guard back for Ellis. Who would be targets? We've said Afflalo. Who else?

Since Phoenix is in full tank mode, I wonder if they would consider: Ellis, Udoh, and Dalembert for Gortat and Dudley. Ellis gives Phoenix name recognition and an expiring $, Udoh is a long term big for the rotation, and Dalembert is an expiring. Total tank move for the Suns. The Bucks get some post scoring and a big body in Gortat (I think he would compliment Henson and Larry), and a really good under the radar player in Dudley.
Obviously, the talent we would get back would be a lot better than the talent we send out, but as we all know things other than talent play a factor in NBA trades all the time.

Milwaukee hates him. Hard to understand why.

Shot selection is a pretty important factor for a shooting guard, especially one shooting 17-18 times a game. Plus the fact that shot selection leads to poor % of shots made (40% from the field and 25% from 3) and then throw in the poor defense and turnovers. Yeah other than that he's peachy keen.

Interesting to note Jennings is shooting over 50% on free throw line jumpers this season.
The big problem is that a full 10 of Ellis' shot attempts per game are shots that he hits at 33% or less. Its pretty incredible that a guy with his ability to get into the lane and inability to shoot 3s would take 10+ shots per game that are either 3s or those early shot clock 20 footers.
