Sky High wrote:Some potential coaches that intrigue me...

Unrealistic options: Phil Jackson, Jerry Sloan, Steve Kerr

Realistic options: Kelvin Sampson, Nate McMillin, Sidney Moncrief, Sam Cassell (I'd be open to this)

Who we will probably hire: Byron Scott, Lawerence Frank, or Joe Wolf (god, I hope not  )

I could see interviews for Scott and Frank, but I don't think we'll go that direction. I wouldn't think Joe Wolf is even in the conversation. Sidney Moncrief may get a token interview but don't think he's a realistic option. I do think Boylan is done barring a miracle upset of the Heat.

I still think Sam Cassell is pretty raw. Here is an article mentioning his good with John Wall. http://www.csnne.com/blog/celtics-talk/ ... ch-cassell

I think Kelvin Sampson is still my favorite choice of the "realistic options". But he may get that Rockets job yet if OKC sweeps them out and McHale gets canned.

I don't think it matters at this point as long as Kohl is the owner but if Boylan is dropped (and he should be) Brian Shaw would be my pick.

It would be a small win to get a coach who puts his players in a position to be positives on the court, ie play to their strengths.

No to Byron Scott.

I vividly recall reading about his lack of focus at the tail end of his tenure in New Orleans.

It basically said he was golfing almost every day and wouldn't put in as much time as needed. I was surprised when he was hired by Cleveland.

Also was stunned to hear Cleveland would think about bringing back Mike Brown. Don't recall the last time a team fired a coach and brought him back this quickly.
We're going to turn this team around 360 degrees.

Wasn't his firing just a failed desperate attempt to appease LeBron and get him to stay?

Why have the lakers passed on him so many times? He seemed like the obvious candidate instead of Mike Brown but they have twice gone to guys with worse systems for their personnel.

Has to be some reason?

I don't have any idea why they hired Brown. That never made any sense to me. I think D'Antoni was all about the big name and having a head coach Nash was comfortable with.

He seems to have helped Indiana out since becoming the #2 to Vogel.

They should at least interview Kareem after his affirmation that he would coach the Bucks if given the opportunity.

Maybe he's not the most proven coaching candidate but he knows how to get a team playing together and can command respect without the hot headed approach of someone like Skiles or B. Scott.

Those two elements are very important to this franchise at present and have been neglected for too long.

Yeah i think we could do a lot worse than Shaw. I would much rather have him than Kareem for example.

Sounds like McMillian the front runner for the Pistons job.

Dunlap didn't last long in Charlotte, canned after a year, so another job open.

Wow, that didn't take long --- to hire, and to return to Cleveland. Glad he's getting another shot I guess.

Gives us hope that when Byron Scott is fired in 2 years that Scott Skiles will be back. :)

The nba is amazing. If you grab one head coaching gig, you are set for life.

Thanks, I was unaware of that. I posted the content of the article as I found the content and his continued pursuit of a coaching position somewhere more interesting anyway. I'm in the minority but would really like if he was the next coach in MKE.

Well I think it's safe to say, that Boylan won't be coming back, it will be interesting to see what names will be rumored to be the Bucks next head coach?

Here a few names that I could see being linked to the Bucks job:

Flip Saunders
Nate McMillan
Lawrence Frank
Jeff Van Gundy
Kelvin Sampson
Brian Shaw

I've been on the Kelvin Sampson bandwagon, and I think he would be a good fit for at team that wants to go young and develop, but my fear is that Kohl and Hammond feel the need to go out and get a "name" that casual fans might have heard of. I actually think Lawrence Frank kind of got the shaft in Detroit, but I'd prefer they stay away from the re-treads and think outside the box for once and go after Sampson or Shaw, but my I'm afraid they will probably go hard after a guy like Flip.

If you read this thread you'll find Byron Scott and Sampson have already been rumored by national writers
