Man, I could watch "Once" over and over again not to mention The Swell Season. They were fantastic together.

Love the quote at the bottom of your post. Congrats on finding a sentence in that movie that can be posted on this board without a censored word. Despite Farrel's feelings though going to Bruges is definitely a goal for me, I've gotta get some trappist ales from the source.

This is another one of my personal favorites of the Tiny Desk concerts. Some people on here may know that I generally feel the same way about Chris Thile that MIG feels about Atlas Genius :D . I love this "supergroup" and Thile kills it. The man won a damn MacArthur Genius Grant for just playing mandolin. The other cool thing about this video is that everyone in it is arguably the best person in the world at playing their respective instruments.

I always liked that When In Rome song from many years back. Don't know much about him, though.

Atlas Genius' debut comes out tomorrow. I have it preordered. I have heard it already and I'm still not sure how I feel about half of it. Half of it is truly genius, the other have has me a little confused.

The Neighbourhood and Phoenix both will have albums drop - in the case of the awesome The Neighbourhood, their debut - the week of 4/22.

Speaking of Phoenix - the lead single off their new album...

I don't really like it on first listen. Following up on Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix is going to be tough, I know, but this falls woefully short.

Agreed on the Atlas album.
Trojans, Backseat, Symptoms, If So, On a Day, Through the Glass are great. Centered on you is decent. The others are kinda weak.

One wonder I have is Through the Glass and On a Day both have a build up for an epic finish and then end. Were they trying to go against the grain of the normal refrain/refrain/bridge/refrain format?

I see you guys are talking about Phoenix in here, I recently got into them after listening to Sean Parker's Hipster International on Spotify. Good band.

But this is why I popped into this thread: Robert Plant Hints He'd Be Open to Led Zeppelin Reunion

Yes they are extremely old and without John Bonham, but I have to admit I'd definitely make a strong effort to see them live, just so I could say I went to a Led Zeppelin concert. Hoping this happens.

A wonder I have is if they struggled to finish material for a full album. Or maybe they felt pressured? Trojans, obviously the strongest song, was also their first. Symptoms and Backseat filled out their EP, and If So was recorded next for the FIFA soundtrack. It seems to me that they had a hard time coming up with enough tracks to flesh out a full LP - or they tried to take their style too far and overthinked it.

I have a playlist if you find me on there that is similar with mostly stuff that is a bit newer than that as well.

Can I search for you even though I deactivated my facebook? I created a second Spotify account because everytime I logged in it automatically re-activated my facebook.

Lulz, I tried to find it on there to send it to you. I don't know? I was going to link it to your facebook but I feel powerless now unless I have an email or something.

It's solid for sure. Oil Slick might be my favorite track.

Atlas Genius performed Trojans on Jimmy Fallon tonight. They seemed a little more loose than when they were on Kimmel - they're probably getting used to being on stage, etc. I thought it was a good performance of one of my favorite songs.

Centered on You & On a Day both starting to grow on me. I think 7 of 11 songs are at least good in my book. I guess that is tough to complain about given the 'hits' (not necessarily mainstream hits - I mean indie/alt hits) I think they have in those 7 songs (definitely Trojans, Symptoms, If So, and maybe Through the Glass). Really solid debut. Cannot wait to see them with Imagine Dragons in March at The Rave! My mind might explode hearing Trojans live, though. That was the general feeling I had hearing Here I Dreamt I Was an Architect live. And this would be on another level.
