Don't know if there's any Mars Volta fans here but Omar's new band Bosnian Rainbows is coming out with their debut album sometime this year. Reeeeallly looking forward to that. Everything that guy does is **** gold, always.

Anyone listen to "Twenty One Pilots"?

Tough to put my finger on it. Same label as fun, now signed to a major record deal. Emo/poppy sounding singer, I almost immediately turned it off when he started to rap. They have the poppy/alt element to be pretty good, though. Some catchy electro-pop.

This is one of my son's favourite songs, it's from an excellent BBC show called "Horrible Histories" that's aimed at pre-/early teens but thought I'd pop it here because it does make me laugh.

Agreed. I was curious early on...when I read the same label as fun. I assumed that the label had like 3 bands ever, and that this was going to be a similar ascension to fun.

Then I looked at Fueled by Ramen (the label) and most of their artists.
-Cobra Starship
-Travie McCoy
-Gym Class Heroes
-Paramore
-Panic! At the Disco

I don't really hate many of those bands, some have a catchy single and diverted from it after they came out. I guess Panic!'s **** covers of Radiohead and Smashing Pumpkins would be the closest to dislike, but it looks like fun. is the outlier. Though we'll see what happens in their next album.

Regardless, given the list that they have on there...you'll be hearing from these guys more.

All I know are the bottom three of that list and I dislike them all. Regardless, they will probably be popular as you said. It just kills me bands like this hit the big times but some legit good music goes unplayed to the national ears. Mainstream thinks stuff like this, though, is "indie" and cool. Meanwhile, Lord Huron and The Neighbourhood will remain amongst the masses as royalty from the Middle Ages and the British spelling of where people live.
