As interesting as Rudy Gay would be, I don't think he's enough to get us anywhere we wanna be. Bucks should just let Ellis and Jennings go after the year and start fresh. Or maybe they could swing a deal and get Eric Bledsoe from LAC. He's been doing pretty good so far but is stuck behind Paul. I think he would be a nice point guard for the future on this team.

If I'm the Grizzlies I'd rather have Korver over Dunleavy and recognize that Ellis is fool's gold. I'd say they're close deals and depend on the rest of the pieces. I'd think Tobias Harris would be included for Milwaukee, perhaps Morrow for Atlanta?

I don't see it making any sense for the Bucks, while it makes much more sense for Atlanta. Teague, Williams, Gay, Smith and Horford is a quality 5. The Bucks should not be taking on contracts like Gay's as their season falls apart whereas Atlanta is a buyer in the East.

If I were Hammond and had full reign on moves, I sure the hell would. What does he have to lose at this point?

Okay...and he won't be here next year anyway, so what does HE have to lose?

All of our prospects, like John Henson, Larry Sanders, and....

Gay/Allen/Ellington/Haddadi in

Ellis/Dunleavy/Tobias/Dalembert out

the Grizz shed Gay's albatroos contract
the Bucks put a guard who defends well and doesn't need shots next to Jennings.

Fair enough, I misread. However I maintain that I'd like to keep Hammond.

I assume Tobias Harris would be gone in a Gay deal. Doron Lamb still remains a prospect.

I'm not anxious to lose any of our "future" to get beat down with an aging Gasol and an underachieving Gay with no money to sign anybody else. But that's just my opinion.

I don't even know what the future is.

I don't see how anyone isn't expendable with a competent organization. But a competent organization doesn't have a mess of a roster like this to begin with.

I think the Bucks are close to making a transition into something good and I remain very optimistic about the future of this team given the young talent drafted.

The Bucks have a fairly brutal January and a ton of road games prior to the trade deadline so it's quite possible they are knocked out of the Playoff hunt and become the sellers they ought to be.

Nothing would be more frustrating to me than to see the Bucks sell off their young guys for guys like Gay or Gasol.

This really could be the deadline the Bucks make the trade to pull in an additional first and sink in the standings.. prepping for an exciting 2013 offseason. That's my hope anyway.

With hollinger now in MEM, I would think monta/gooden would work.

No doubt. Ellis/Lamb for Gay, and Ersan/Udrih/Dalembert for Gasol/Meeks

Jennings
Meeks/Dunleavy
Gay/Harris
LRMAM/Udoh
Gasol/Sanders

Putting aside whether we are willing to take this kind of financial risk -- I think we'd be a perfect team for Rudy Gay to go to actually.

He fancies himself a #1 option, and we desperately need one.

We also have a front court full of scrappy defenders to help him out. He'd fit great next to whatever combination of Moute / Ersan / Sanders / Udoh / Henson / Dally that we'd keep.

His size at SF could mitigate some of the problems we have when we go with Moute at PF. He'd also be great running the break and getting into passing lanes on defense.

Fom the Grizzlies perspective, it certainly seems like something they would consider, if only since Ric Bucher reported in November 2011 that an Ellis for Gay swap was possible:

Rudy Gay is a #1 in the same sense as Monta is. He's stupid inefficient.

2 3-team teams Bucks, Jazz and Grizzles

1.
Bucks get: Gay, Wroten and Griz 2013 1st
Jazz get: Udoh and Jennings
Grizzless get: Millsap, Dunleavy, Gooden

2.
Bucks get: Gay, Wroten
Jazz get: Bayless, Udoh and Allen
Grizzles get: Ellis, Millsap and Gooden

Not saying I want Gay, but a couple of trades that make sense

There is really no trade for Gay that makes sense.

This is good... but even better would be if we can get Gay, Gasol, and still keep Ellis. All 3 of them have an elite skill which means all 5 starters would be elite at something. Maybe Ellis resigns if we add serious guys like this as well. Ellis (drives), Gay (slash), Moute (defense) or MDJ (shooting), Gasol (post), Sanders (blocks). Everyone else is expendable but I'd like to keep Henson, Harris, and Udoh if possible. So if the trades could be limited to Jennings, Ersan, Dally, Daniels, Lamb, Gooden, etc.

So you want to keep Ellis, Sanders,Harris and Henson. But you want us to get Gay and Gasol. Wont happen.
