Barring a big time losing streak before the deadline, there is virtually no chance we blow it up I would think

Just saw this trade on the trade forum

Hawks get: Howard/Ellis
Bucks get: Korver/Jenkins/protected 1st
Lakers get: Horford/D.Harris

Why Hawks: They pair Smith with his 2 buddies in Howard and Ellis - Howard has stated many times that he wanted to play with Ellis

Why Bucks: They need a shooter and they get their SG of the future + a 1st

Why Lakers: They get a top 5 C for Howard, who under a nice contract and Harris would be a good 6th man.

I could live with that, would love the Hawks again, like the Dominique days...

This is more of a shakeup than a complete blow up. These moves both shed a lot of cheddar and add pieces to give us a shot to win a playoff series.

Ersan Ilyasova, Tobias Harris and Deron Lamb to Dallas for Elton Brand, Roddy Beaubois and Jae Crowder.

I think Brand really compliments our current group. More consistent than Ersan right now, better low post defender. Opens up the door for Henson to share more power forward minutes. Productive veteran low post presence for the rest of the season and the playoffs. Sheds Ersan contract and designate Henson our franchise power forward.

Still don't really know what to make of Beabois. Shown flashes, still pretty young. Think he needs a change of scenery. If nothing else adds back court depth and gives Dalembert and Mbah a Moute another guy to speak French with.

Harris for Crowder might be tough for some to swallow, I just think Crowder really adds a defensive element to our team right now that make us more of a force. It's fun about him out there with Moute and the havoc they could create. Harris might put it all together, but I don't know if it will be in Milwaukee.

Was there a rumor that Dallas was targeting Ersan or something? I don't see why they trade for a $8 million backup to a 35 minute a game player.

Ick. I like Harris more than Crowder (who I do like, but as a bench defender) or Beaubois, and Brand is pretty much done. We should not be making these kind of trades.

Can Brand as an amnesty guy be dealt? I didn't think they could.

Yup. We have probably the 2nd best team in last 22 years. The best was big 3 team offcourse:

Milwaukee Bucks record after first 40 games:

2012-13 -------- 22-18
2011-12 -------- 16-24
2010-11 -------- 16-24
2009-10 -------- 17-23
2008-09 -------- 19-21
2007-08 -------- 16-24
2006-07 -------- 17-23
2005-06 -------- 21-19
2004-05 -------- 15-25
2003-04 -------- 22-18 (TJ Ford's rookie year, the last time we had all star member)
2002-03 -------- 19-21
2001-02 -------- 26-14
2000-01 -------- 25-15
1999-00 -------- 22-18
1998-99 -------- 22-18

1997-98 -------- 18-22
1996-97 -------- 19-21
1995-96 -------- 15-25
1994-95 -------- 16-24
1993-94 -------- 12-28
1992-93 -------- 17-23
1991-92 -------- 19-21

The FTD roster was on 60 win pace for 30 games. They won 46 for the season, but that Jennings/Salmons/Bogut team was either 1st or 2nd best team in last 22 years. I actually wouldn't be surprised if they beat the big 3 team head to head.

This current team is not better than FTD.

Highly unlikley, but we get a low post scorer and keep Ilyasova

Hawks get: Howard and Ellis
Lakers get: Daly/Henson/Devin Harris/Jenkins
Bucks get: Horford/Korver

Jennings(36)/Udrih(12)
Korver(30)/Dunleavy(18)
Moute(36)/Dunleavy(12)
Ilyasova(30)/Horford(18)
Sanders(30)/Horford(18)

Or the one I posted on the trade board

Hawks get: Howard/Ellis
Bucks get: Korver/Jenkins
Lakers get: Horford/Devin Harris

Short-term maybe not but going forward I would say it is.

Depends what type of wing they acquire.

I'd be ecstatic if the Bucks could pull off Monta for Corey Brewer & Jordan Hamilton.

Denver has a glut of size at the wing positions.

Not sure they'd really be interested in Monta though, they seem to have their chemistry figured out.

I'll go:
1. Big Three 2001 (ECF)
2. Big Three 2000 (shouldve beat the Pacers in the playoffs, they lucked out)
3. FTD (pre-Bogut injury)
4a. Big Three 1999
4b. Current team.

The FTD and current team are such small samples.

I really doubt the Bucks trade Ellis. He's part of the reason the Bucks are winning despite his undesirable statistics.

We could really use an athletic guard with size. Either instead of Monta or in addition to Monta. Jennings-Monta-Udrih plus someone like Afflalo is a great backcourt.

I don't think Monta gets traded this year; we're too competitive right now in a relatively weak East. If we do make a trade, it will be other guys.

And I think Monta opts out after the year, leaving us with Jennings, Lamb, and that's it. We'd pick up a FA guard and draft one too. But I think the chances are good we pick up another guard who will play, if we make any trades before the deadline.

Here's a trade to chew on.

Milwaukee Out:
Monta Ellis
Larry Sanders

Atlanta Out
Al Horford

I don't think either team has much of an incentive to make that move, but I'm wondering if you would. Like the "would you deal Sanders for a top draft pick" thread, I'm just curious.

How about going after Josh Smith??? And since ATL also just lost Lou Williams for the year they will be looking for a guard so Monta plus Illayasova for Josh Smith.

Roll with Jennings/JSmith/Sanders
