I think its a realistic. Memphis seems like they want to compete while unload salary. They could still make the playoffs this year with:

Conley/Bayless
Ellis/Ellington
Gay/Poindexter/Harris
Speights/Arthur
Gasol/Dalembert

They would then potentially have Ellis coming off the books, or flip him again in another trade and maximize future assets.

But in all seriousness, he needs more help. He may have one top 5 player in Howard, but he needs at least another top 5 player if they are going to be a legitimate .500 team. One top 5 player in Howard along with two top 20 type players in Nash and Gasol isn't enough.
