Ersan trade eligibility on January 15th

I realize most trades don't happen until the trade deadline, which is Thursday, February 21st.

But on Tuesday, a number of players are now eligible to be dealt including Ersan.

Hammond has not been particularly proactive or creative in making trades. However he has been quick to move guys he views as "mistakes". Does he feel this way with Ersan?

Also a strange coincidence we play the Lakers on the 15th. I don't think there is any correlation to this, but for whatever reason the Bucks tend to be playing the teams we've dealt with immediately before or after a deal is made.

Pau is still out from his concussion after taking an elbow to the head. Gametime decision today. Jordan Hill lost for the season. Ersan, Beno, Gooden total $21.9 million outbound and we take back Pau, Duhon and a min salary scrub for $22,500,000.

It works under the cap and just seems logical if the Lakers are really desperate to do something and aren't under a 2014 plan to clear cap space for LeBron.

I'll be very curious to see if Ersan has any value. He looks awful out there right now. Hopefully teams only watch game film of him versus the Nets.

Stein has the Bucks as the most active team leading up to the deadline so I would imagine we see a move soon. This team is dead.

Would be interesting...I'd probably do it. Although I feel like Ersan deserves more chances to play now that he has turned his game around from his horrid start to the season. Before we look into moving him I mean.

I think I'd do the Ersan for Humphries and Marshon Brooks trade if its available.

With our current PF situation, Would anybody do a Ersan for Derozen trade? Not saying am a huge fan of Derozen, but with a move like this, it would certainly open up a Ellis trade.

What was the determination on Brooklyn's 1st round pick? Are they able to trade it?

Still I would explore the Monta/Ily -> Lakers, Pau -> Nets, Humphries/Brooks -> Bucks

I would trade Ersan for anything, just to free up time for Henson.

I wanted to like Ersan more then any player on the roster coming into the season, I'd trade him for practically nothing at this point. Charlotte could really use a power forward and has a slew of two year deals/expirings to trade.

For me, this season just affirmed that Ersan is who we thought he was. Nice player. Guy who needs to be in a certain situation to flourish and we don't have that situation anymore.

$32 million that will take playing time away from Henson. If we were a 50 win team and he was contributing at his current rate, then I'd probably hang onto him for depth as part of the regular rotation.

Still think the Gasol trade is the best use for Ersan's contract. Ersan and Beno and/or Dalembert for Gasol. Sell it to Herb as getting his marquee player that will attract fans. But knowing that his contract will come off the books in two years.

Ersan and Dalembert would be ok assuming we somehow still can "win now" so that we can keep Beno for guard help.

Charlotte sounds like a good deal

Ersan/Daniels for Henderson/Warrick

I would. Not the best player, but a lineup of Jennings, Ellis, Demar, Luc, Sanders would be fun to watch.

Not sure why the Raptors would want him though?

Edit: I shouldnt say fun to watch, but thats an athletic lineup. It would be interesting to see what they could do and who they would go to on offense.

Ersan - Daly - Gooden for Gasol

Ersan - Daly for Gasol

Ersan - Daly - Udoh for Gasol

All 3 of those trades work in the trade checker and I would do any one of those. I'd prefer to keep Beno, but if LA insists on him I would trade him and take back Duhon or Meeks.

I would check Utah's interest in teaming him with their Turk since they don't seem interested in paying Millsap, but I don't mind keeping Ersan around unless someone gives us a good offer. Amnesty Gooden this summer of course. Pau would be ok. I don't see any big need for Duhon when we can give them Dalembert instead of Beno.

With Utah, I really want to get Burks. I don't see how we can't make a deal work that involves him. He's not being used much.

From said Mitch Lawrence column:

Despite chief basketball man Jim Buss saying he’s not going to blow up the Lakers, give them another five weeks, when the trading deadline arrives on Feb. 21. Pau Gasol is the leading candidate to leave, with Toronto still a top destination. The Raptors like Gasol but are trying to figure out how to entice L.A. . .

I'd rather take Pau in direct personally. But route Ross or Lowry here would be fine also. We could help facilitate this.

Where are they saying that?

Yeah, I'd do that first one and pop the champagne cork afterwards.
