The gap isn't HUGE, but it's very, very, clear. I can't even imagine the stupid numbers Jordan would put up if he played his entire career in the no hand checking era.

Lol YEAH, LeBron would have been STOPPED IN HIS TRACKS by HAND-CHECKING.

Lmao, so sick of that dumbass argument.

I just look at their overall skill sets and how they impact the game. I think it's fairly obvious Jordan is a better scorer, but I also think it's fairly obvious that LeBron is a far better passer. Jordan was incredible at scoring from midrange, on the block and driving to the rim so that kind of negates how dominant LeBron can be on the block and when taking the ball to the rim. I think LeBron is more versatile on defense (he can guard more positions and do a great job on just about anyone) where as Jordan was more limited in who he could guard, but was more lock down.

I dunno, they are both pretty incredible. I could see Lebron at ages 32-38 being better than Jordan at those ages though. As LeBron ages he SHOULD (just speculation obviously) be able to move his game down to the block, play PF and continue to dominate with his size and strength.

I never said that. But Jordan would have destroyed this era even worse than he destroyed his.

What I'm saying is, LeBron would have adapted too, and also benefited from old rules (i.e. no three second defensive violations).

Sorry, I just think the argument is hog wash.

Does anyone think that James plays with a better supporting cast in Wade and Bosh? Otherwise we need to wait until James is done.-

Christ, I should have known this was about Kobe.

Kobe hasn't been in LeBron's league since LeBron's 2nd year in the league. He might be the most overrated basketball player in the history of the NBA. The fact that he's even in the discussion with Jordan is proof that ESPN is a joke.

It's actually my secret agenda for Durant conquers James, but yeah ESPN is a joke. Their coverage is good as in total games they air, but overall the commentary sucks across all sports lines and the news is more TMZ than it is Bloomberg. I worry that ESPN will someday become MTV and not show sports anymore and just talk.

Nobody at ESPN seriously thinks Durant is at LeBron's level. Maybe Smith or Bayless have put that out there...I don't know, I don't watch their idiotic show. But they're trolls.

ESPN has gone off the deep end. Save for a very small handful of decent people, it's trash. SVP and Russillo, Law, Ford late in the draft...legitimately struggling to come up with anyone else worth a ****. Shefter and Mort come up with their share of scoops, but it's nothing anybody else doesn't get.

That's because ESPN is behind the curve. Durant will be better than James and by the time ESPN starts saying so, it will had been done.

I still give PTI love. That's about it.

also, jordans team was sculpted, and he played with great players. people underestimate pippen (greatest wing defender ever?), and how underrated rodman/cartwright were. lebron has played with a bunch of schlubs and players who dont match his skill set.

No no, let's first get back to the competition. I'd love to know who LeBron has gone up against that compares to (in order) Thomas, Magic, Ewing, Drexler, Barkley, Shaq and Hardaway, Payton and Kemp, Miller, Stockton and Malone?

He's playing with a player who has a Finals MVP in his pocket and then a PF who has made 8 all-star games. But the competition argument is hilarious. Are you saying the NBA is tougher now than it was in the early to mid 90's?

uhhh. absolutely. its like saying the nfl isnt tougher than it was in the mid 90s.

say what you want to about their dominance, but due to technological advancements, drugs, whatever, athletes are far superior now. put a prime jordan and a prime the bron on the court and jordans gonna look like yer grandma.
