Jennings-10m, Ellis-10m, Moute-4.7m, Smith-15m, Sanders-8m = 47.7 million for our starting 5.

Lamb will be at .889 and Udoh at 4.1. Mike 4.0 Korver 3.5 Harris 2.1

If that is our core roster of 10 players, we would be around 62m, 2m over the projected cap.

Bring in two rookies, a first and a 2nd, we are then around 65m in cap given we will pick in the 18+ range.

So at 12 players we are at 5m over the cap. I wager we sign 1 guy to around 2.5m and then 2 vets at the vet minimum, I think .95 next season.

15 players would net us around 69m of cap space on a projected 60m cap, 9m over the cap is still under the hard tax, and the hard tax is the only truly strict penalty.

Not saying I want to go this route, and likely the Bucks would deal Udoh for a cheaper option, as well as not keep Korver at 3.5. Bucks could be in the 3-4m over the cap ballpark while keeping Jennings, Ellis, Moute, Smith, and Sanders locked in for 4 plus seasons.

No way the Bulls give up Butler.

No way is a bit over the top, he is good, but nowhere near a star, or even a borderline star. I see him as a 3 star player, worthy of being the 4th guy on a mediocre team. If they can get a guy with higher value then that currently, say JJ Redick who is deemed a 3 star himself, but offers a weakness the Bulls have, they will deal him.

Thats fine They can throw in someone else to make salaries match

Or we can just eliminate Butler from the trade period. Im fine with having Boozer and RIP the next couple years.

I cannot predict what the Bucks will actually do, as I feel it is going to be multi faceted with a future goal in mind. Sad thing for all of you fans, it is going to be a more spiffy, jazzed up version of the win now approach you all hate.

Only thing I am positive of is that Larry Sanders will be a Buck past thursday. My gut also says Jennings and Henson are also safe. I fully expect at least two trades to be made. One acquiring Josh Smith, and the other acquiring more help on the wing.

To get Smith we likely give up Harris, Udoh, and Ersan

In the other trade I feel we will trade Udrih and possibly a draft pick.

My guess for our lineup when the deadline is over with.

Jennings/Redick
Ellis/Redick
Moute/Mike D
Smith/Henson
Sanders/Dalembert

Yes I do also feel this means we resign both Brandon Jennings and Josh Smith in the offseason, while trading Ellis via sign and trade for best available. We will let Mike D walk, as well as Dalembert, and add cheaper vets to replace them, as we are going to also save money for Sanders extension, which is looking more and more expensive the more he plays.

Not so sure it's the direction as much as the execution. Keeping both inefficient chuckers while adding a third and rounding out the starting lineup with guys who cant score outside of 5 feet doesn't exactly scream 'win now'

Well, I'll go out on a limb and say they'll just be ordering for some pizzas, and while doing so, Hammond will be tying up the phone line so the call with the franchise changing offer never gets thru...

Eric Gordon would be too epic.

So Redick and Ellis walk, we overpay Jennings and Smith, using essentially all our cap. We trade the draft pick so we can't draft a wing. We have no real money to sign a wing. How is that team better than this years team again? It's nothing but a .500 team that is now locked in financially. Great defensively and horrendous offensively.

Minor move for more swag. Someone who can dunk the ball and shoot a long three. That and the eighth seed is all we need to make the playoffs/put more butts in the seats. That's not my view, but would appear to be the Bucks' view.
Hope they prove me wrong.

If you read my whole post, never said we let Redick walk, I said we will let 32yr old Mike D walk after this year, as well as Dalembert, and we will SIGN AND TRADE Ellis for best available. Signing Jennings to 10m per and Smith to 16m per is far from locking down your cap man. Next years cap is going to be between 60 and 62m, so we would have 34-36m to fill out the roster, (assuming we amnesty Gooden). Redick at 7m per for 3rs puts us at 33m, Moute, Henson, and Sanders combined are 10m, so thats 43m and 6 players. Lamb is under 1m, 44m. That is seven players under contract for 44m. Lets assume we hold another 5m to extend Sanders, you are then looking at 11m to fill out 2 rotation spots, and then 3-5 bench warmer spots, which is more then easy to do, rotation players are around 3m each, so 6m total, and 5 bench warmers (one being a 2nd rounder) are all under 1m each.

This means we can be under the cap and fill a complete rotation while locking up Smith and Jennings long term, and having money set aside for Sanders, not sure how that is a crippling move.

Hammond is not dumb enough to have Jennings, Ellis, and Smith on the same team. I don't get why you guys continue to involve scenarios in which Jennings stays and is resigned for $10m/year, etc. He has to go, and I think it's Hammond's main priority.

I have a feeling we see a string of trades, maybe 2 or 3, or nothing gets done. With the way this is shaping up It feels like every possible move is dependent on something else.

If the Bucks were to add Josh Smith without having to deal Jennings, they will rise as high as 4th in the East. I am not scared of anything I see in Boston, Atlanta, or Brooklyn, and word is spreading faster and faster that the Bulls are going to make big changes by dealing Boozer and Hamilton. If Rose does not come back, we should pass the Bulls as well leaving only the Heat, Knicks, and Pacers ahead of us. No chance we catch the Heat or Knicks, but I think we can give the Pacers a run for their money, we play them again, and are only 5 games back.

So lets all please stop acting like this year is the same as others, when we are 9 games under .500 and are trying to live a pipe dream and get the 8th seed. A win now move does way more then the 8th seed for this Bucks team.

The question is, if not Jennings, who, sure his efficiency is bad, but he is still only .15 points per shot behind guys like Jrue Holiday, so as inefficient as Jennings is, he is much closer to other players then everyone here gives him credit for.

Is Jennings a star, HELL NO, but he is a proven 18 ppg .515 TS% , 6 apg player (apg are low this year sharing PG duties while on the court with Ellis, he realistically can get to around 7.5apg) and 2.0 spg player, which is far above the average PG in the league, and those PG's, such as Calderon are going to require near 10m themselves anyways.

Bottom line, if shooting is a players only major weakness, you hang on to that player, because shooting is one thing that you can improve year to year. Now, some of you are going to say his shot selection sucks, and up to this year, I would agree 100%, but this year, the only time I have seen him take bad shots is when he is really feeling it, and pulls a heat check 25 ft 3, making half of em, but the thing is, every other player in the league does this as well. And lets be real, if not Jennings or Ellis, then who, we have no true go to shooter, so say they chuck all you want, but I would much rather Jennings or Ellis, then Moute or any other player besides Mike D.

He is improving his shot selection, handling, and defense (guy is like an annoying nat) with his only other weakness being his lack of a big body so it is hard for him to fight through screens. Sanders helps mask that quite well, and if you had Josh Smith to pair with him, you would not even notice its an issue. At 10m per, that is a very good bargain price for a borderline All-Star PG.

Now Monta Ellis, I cannot defend him at all, bad shooters chucking up shots with 18 secs left on the clock are just bad IQ players.

Yeah, with a lot of these potential deals, especially the Smith one it would take another 2 to get the roster square.

After waiting to make my prediction until closer to the deadline, this is what I personally believe ACTUALLY goes down as the thread title suggested...

Trade 1 - Monta and Dalembert to Atlanta, Josh Smith and Anthony Morrow or Deshawn Stevenson to Milwaukee

Trade 2 - Mbah A Moute and 2013 1st round pick to Orlando, JJ Redick to Milwaukee

I believe the rumors are more concrete at this point and less conflicting than most say and all teams involved are just waiting until closer to 3pm Thursday to make them official.

This gives every team involved enough time to go through every option on the table before they realize they won't get better offers for what they want to get rid of and the fireworks start.
