Really tough to replace (even on a part time basis) a guy as popular and respected in the larger community as Johnny Mac. Moncrief is an excellent choice from that perspective.

Happy to read this too. I like McGlocklin but I couldn't deal with that pair starting about 5 years ago. It will be nice when Jim is replaced as well and best to them both.

Bucks doing refreshing things.. Amazing.

Wish it was Paschke getting replaced, but I'm glad Johnny Mac will still be around.

I think Ted/Krause are perfect for radio and Ted can be a little more opinionated as well which is part of his appeal.

Love or hate the duo, but this is kind of a change of an era here. Paschke/McGlocklin have been the voices of the organization for a very long time and clearly Johnny Mac is slowly stepping away. Glad Moncrief was able to stick with the organization and get a shot at the gig.

Good call on the poster who kind of called this last winter when Johnny Mac really wanted that win at Phoenix.

I'm afraid we're stuck with Paschke for the long haul, unless there's new ownership or some drastic change in the organization.

Man I don't know. Paschke has to be in his 60s by now I'd think and I wouldn't be shocked if he hangs it up before 70. Obviously hard to say, depends on health, etc but if Johnny Mac hangs it up and Paschke is set financially, I wouldn't be shocked if he steps away from the daily grind. It is alot of travel, time, etc and he's doing alot of stuff year round.

Well, we all know how difficult flights are on this team.

Baghdad Bob (Jim) isn't going anywhere.

That said, if/when the team starts winning big again, we'll all make up with Duke and enjoy his broadcast work as we did prior to this most recent team nosedive.

Whenever a team is a doormat, the announcers, PA guy, cheerleaders, etc all seem like crap. They magically improve as the product on the court does.

This is spot on. Last few years U have gone to about 10 games a year. Eric Jensen the PA guy, now gets on my nerves when I'm at the game. Especially in the games the Bucks are down 20.

Mentioned this on twitter a week or so ago but I was watching old highlights back in 2001 and just listening to those Jim was just as intolerable then as he is now, so being a good team isn't likely to change my view on him.

I bet Jim would be really arrogant if the Bucks were a good team.

It didn't listen to him on the radio growing up but I really enjoyed listening to Eddie Doucette calling some games earlier this year. It would be nice if he or Ted would fill in for Jim sometimes.

I've always wished Eddie would come back in some capacity. He left here for his son's health reasons but I had hoped he return some day but it never happened.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

He's taken alot of sh*t in the past couple years and I agree he'd probably let out some steam to a portion of the fan base if the Bucks had a good season.

Likely not. I just figured if he's closer to 70 than 60, then there is a possible chance he could be done. I don't know his age at all. If he's around 60, then yeah, he's probably got a good 5 years minimum.

I liked the Clippers guys when they sucked. They got real arrogant real quick when they started winning though. The Orlando guys went from smug to not bad when Howard left and they tanked.

What's the story behind the Baghdad Bob nickname? I don't get it.

I think the frustrations of the fan base get taken out on Paschke far too often.

Any one of us on here would love to have had the gig that he's had for the past 30 years.

He came to wide prominence around the world during the 2003 invasion of Iraq, during which he was the Iraqi Information Minister under Iraqi president Saddam Hussein, acting as the spokesperson for the Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party and Saddam's regime.

He is best known for his grandiose and grossly unrealistic propaganda broadcasts before and during the war, extolling the invincibility of the Iraqi Army and the permanence of Saddam's rule. His announcements were intended for an Iraqi domestic audience subject to Saddam's cult of personality and total state censorship, and were met with widespread derision and amusement by Western nationals and others with access to up-to-date information from international media organizations. In the US he was popularly known as Baghdad Bob, in the UK as Comical Ali, and in Italy as Alì il Comico.
