What would you ask ATL for Sanders?
Hawks fan here, with a simple question: what's the price for Sanders? Reading the Trade Board (and this one), I see y'all all over the place concerning the guy - " we hate him" / "he's the best defensive Center in all the world" - so what is the consensus?
I know y'all want 33 unprotected 1sts, PLUS Millsap, PLUS Teague, but, really, what would you ask the Hawks to give you for Sanders? Remember, I'm asking this so that the Hawks will not have to collapse, so your demands cannot decimate the team, or we'd have to say no.
Would Lucas Nogueira and/or Dennis Schröder be interesting enough?

My mother told me, she said, "Elwood, to make it in this world you either have to be oh, so clever or oh, so pleasant." Well, for years I was clever; I recommend pleasant.

I would ask for Schroder + 2014 1st (from Nets). I would agree to Schroder + 2015 1st.

With Horford out for the year, I want Horford.
We will add extra if needed, save for Giannis, Middleton, Henson.
Would be the perfect tank move for us.

What protections would you allow on the 2015 pick?

Ferry is salivating at the thought of pulling a deal for Sanders.

I'd rather just shut LS down for the season now that he "re-injured" his thumb tonight.
But if they want to deal their 2014 Nets/ATL pick swap rights, I'd have to consider making a deal.

You're a mod and you're asking this, especially with the "Giannis, Middleton, Henson" part? I know I'm a guest but ... wow.

Horford now will have missed basically two seasons out of the last three with torn pectoral muscles. This is like when Michael Redd blew out the second ACL. You officially have a flawed health player. His value takes a hit because of this.

I like that pair a lot, I'd certainly give it some thought if I was running things.
I think there's mostly the "dump him now" and the "get a good piece or it isn't worth trading him" crowds. There really isn't many (any) teams right now that would even discuss a good piece for him and most would rather keep him then trading him for middling prospects/picks. I like Schroder A LOT and Nogueira more then most so it would have my interest more then stuff like Olynyk and other packages with mid first type assets but honestly, I'd probably pass.

He went down on his thumb. That doesn't mean he's done but he was holding it for some time. The Bucks have put injured players out on the court plenty this season. They have no qualms trying to win at any cost.
So Sanders isn't done, even if he really did something to his thumb tonight.

Would probably hold firm on no protection on the pick. Schroder is a nice prospect but that's it, at this point.

All the more reason why the Hawks would never trade him. Move on to another demand.

Re: What would you ask ATL for Sanders?
a) There's no reason we 'must' move Sanders.
b) He is a leading defensive player in the league.
c) He's fairly young.
It's not ridiculous to be looking for a decent return.

I agree that both players are not sure-fire (although I really believe in Schröder). But if it's close, what's missing in the deal?

Re: What would you ask ATL for Sanders?
Prediction: This is actually Danny Ferry, and whatever deal we establish as fair here is actually going to happen, plus our 2014 first round pick.

I'm not asking for a steal for the Hawks. I'm asking what is a fair deal in this board's opinion.
And I'm probably going to argue with whatever you believe on this issue because ... I am a homer. Aren't most of us here?
But the opinions (and arguments) will be edifying.

To give a non-smartass answer, after looking at the roster... I wouldn't really be interested in anything except the 2014 pick (including Horford, due to injury history). I can't imagine the Bucks brass would feel much differently about it.

Re: What would you ask ATL for Sanders?
Horford's stock suddenly takes a huge hit and his career might be in jeopardy.
Ilyasova and Udoh for Horford and Jenkins. Wouldn't give up Sanders unless I could include more to get the Bklyn pick.
