I knew nothing about him going into the game, and I found myself looking up his draft stock part way through the game. He really looked great.

The thing about him that he hasn't shown yet is the 15-18 foot shot which he can hit regularly. He's a late first early second pick for me but more than likely a second round pick.

Jabari Parker suffers from the same mentality.

He was a four star recruit that transferred after his freshman year at Indiana. The guy has underwhelmed considering expectations up to this point, so it's good to see him find his footing.

Still wondering why Bo never went after Fischer.

Bo coached his high school coach (Showalter's dad). So if anyone had the inside scoop he did. Think he knew the kid wanted to play for Crean. Not sure they had a scholie available when he left IU.

The refs made that game damn near unwatchable. If I want to watch guys shoot free throws, I'll go hang out at the Y.

I may have the exact numbers wrong but Fischer went from being like 6'4 to 6'10 quickly and at a later age. He committed to Crean pretty early. As for when he transferred, isn't there some penalty for transferring within the Big 10?

No kidding. I get that they want more freedom of movement in college ball, but if the result will be a non-stop whistle fest with both teams in the bonus before the 10 minute mark, it's going to be an extra ugly year for college basketball.

Ya some of these calls are a joke and make it hard to watch..i liked how college didmt call ticky tack fouls and give star treatment but the az. state/marquette game was 10 times worse..man if i was a gm n didnt have a shot at simmons.jaylen brown, labsierre, or bender i would love ellenson..i got him way ahead if stone and possibly bender and labisierre ( i havent seen much of either

Crean started recruiting Fischer in 8th grade, Bo never had a chance at him. The main reason he left Indiana is he wanted to be closer to home, so Marquette made sense.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

ICYMI, Marquette's Henry Ellenson was named the MVP of the Legends Classic, not LSU's Ben Simmons. Marquette 2-0, LSU 0-2.

Great to see Marquette bounce back from that Iowa game. Hope this is the momentum booster they needed.

Hopefully they can make some noise this year, Ellenson will be one and done.

I don't see it either. All he can do is score over undersized defenders on the block and even his post game is far from refined.

Nice win against a cupcake. They need to destroy the rest of their non conference and go 10-2 to seal a chance at the tourney. (Including beating UW) it would be a crime to only play in the nit with ellenson.
