Re: OT - Marquette Hires Wojciechowski / MU BBALL updates

I think Carter is going to be the "X" factor this year- Derrick Wilson was an absolute terrible PG- unreal how your PG shot just 23% from 3 and 47% from the line. It's not like he was an assist machine either (4.7/)

Ellenson is the best player they recruited since I don't know when - and Luke Fischer can be an elite college player with someone like Ellenson taking some of the pressure off him inside. When's the last time MU has has two bigs as talented as Henry and Luke (6'10"/245 and 6'11" 245)

Duane Wilson (a proven scorer) adds a spark at the 2G and wont be asked to be filling the role of a PG like he did last year if Carter can come through. Juan Johnson and Sandy Cohen had their moments moments, but both had disappointing campaigns last year- one of the two needs to step up and fill a 6th man type role off the bench.

MU's biggest problem may be their bench. Hopefully JJ, Cohen, and some talented freshmen can help fill that void.

Whenever I watch Ellenson I can't help but think Ryan Anderson with some ball handling skills.

Henry Ellenson was named to preseason All-Big East Second Team. He's the first freshman to earn 1st- or 2nd-team honors since 1992-93. #mubb

Well season is almost upon us Any predictions? This is one of the more hyped teams in awhile for MU. I'm thinking around 20 wins, upper half of Big East, sneak into NCAA tourney, and bounced in round of 32.

Not sure what happens here but I think this season MU fans learn if Woj can coach or not.

Well this may be a bigger project than expected... Ooof.

Worst case I fear is the team is behind the learning curve (so far looking to be the case) but Ellenson puts up big #s and bolts after a year.

This feels like the start to the Bob Dukiet era.....

I was way overly optimistic for Duane Wilson and Luke Fischer. Thought both guys would make at least second team all big east. Add in Ellenson and I had the number 2 in the big east and top 20 overall. I was wrong. The worst part is that I thought we would still be good when ellenson leaves and it is starting to look like a 2-3 year project.

Also looks like they will pass on Kostas. I know he kind of sucks right now but I still see him being a great college player once he grows into his body.

Well our inability to shoot causes teams to pack the paint which nullifies our two best players in ellenson and Luke. They need players other than Cohen to shoot the ball which is suppose to be Wilson in order to free up the post play. We play LSU and the likely #1 pick tonight in Ben Simmons so I hope for at least a competitive game

And by competitive I hope to stay within 35. If Iowa drubbed us at home, not sure what LSU is gonna do on a neutral site. Iowa isn't even projected to be good in the Big Ten let alone ranked. Please surprise me MU...

Ditto. I had high hopes like 20 wins but after seeing the effort against IUPUI and then the embarrassment against Iowa I'm thinking it's going to be exciting at times but overall beyond frustrating

Or they could just beat LSU. Even though they tried their best to choke it away.

Nice win!

Ben Simmons is a beast, not sure how he doesn't take that last shot though. He passed it up two different times.

I thought for sure Simmons was going to drive and score or draw a foul. Good win
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Oh and this just in Simmons is a beast. Sometimes too unselfish though

Did Simmons play? I didn't hear the announcers mention him.

Lots of NBA scouts there. Ellenson probably helped his draft stock.
