Kevin Love dropped out of Team USA.

I'd hope Jabari gets a call from Coach K after they now need a stretch 4.

Could use a C too.....Larry impressed last time...both those guys could be getting a call.

If Another 5 stars wont
Come spain could have
A Chance to beat USA :D

USA is Incredible strong

Big man rotation without BG and Love
Is still good
And Backcourt unmatchable

Would Be fun to Watch jabari compete
With giannis
But this could happen only in the finals

So this would be double fun for me ;)

i'd be kind of split on jabari getting a call. on one hand, it's cool to have a bucks representative on team USA. on the other, it'd be nice if jabari would stay in milwaukee and really work on conditioning and work with some of the new coaches before his rookie season. 82 games will be shock enough, idk if the extra practices and scrimmages for team usa would be good in that regard.

Maybe I'm crazy, but I think in 4 years Giannis will be one of the 5 best players on the planet.

Diamantidis isn't the best player to never play in the NBA. Not by a country mile and then some. He isn't even the best Greek player to not play in the NBA (Giannakis, Galis, Papaloukas) and even others more are debatable.

And as far as European players go, there are many better than him that never played in the NBA. And those are not all time Euroleague stats. Those are only stats since the year 2000. They don't count any stats for the first 42 years of the league. So he is hardly the leader or ranked in the place in those categories "all time" as suggested. Not even close. That's just since the year 2000. The league existed since the year 1958, and those stats are only counting games played since 2000.

Since some Greeks introduced their selves, i will do it too...I am half Greek (from Serres) and half Cypriot (from Limassol), in last 10 years i live in Nicosia where ive made my family.

Now as far as about Diamantidis i consider him on the lvl of Gkalis, with Gkalis being ahead just because what he did about the game in Greece. I just read a research about the favorite sport of the Greeks. The research took over during soccer Mountial. Soccer came 1st with 77.6% with basketball 76.5%. Considering the days that the research took over its safe to say that basketball is easily 1st, and we are a basketball nation.

Unfortunately we have big problems with the basketball fed. The president did great things for the game, but now is really old and is acting like a moron...

I really do not want to make
this a greek national team Thread
But putting diamantidis on a
Level with Galis is ridicoulos

GALIS IS GOD!!!!!!

In Times where US College
Teams played against us and
won with 20 points+

He carried us alone against
The unbeatable soviet Union
And the gigantic last Yougoslavian
National Team
That could be named the Best
European team ever
with petrovic and divac in this
Team

Galis was top scorer in every Tournament
he Took part
He was with FG % of 50%

Have you seen Galis play live?

Even the GOAT michael jordan
Had only good words for him.

What has Diamantidis done
For the greek national team?

A 3 pointer against France 2005?
Retire with 30 years with the
National team?

The titles with panathinaikos
Came with monster rosters

Dont get me wrong Diamantidis
Is one of the Best European ever
But GALIS put as on the map.

Greek Basketball Knows only the
Age before and After Galis.
That simple

Back to topic

Giannis is in the same room
During Preparation
With the captain of the Team
Nikos zisis

Zisis is a perfekt character
And captain and never missed
the national team for 16!!!!!
Years inkluding all the youth
National teams!

Some say he is not the Best Player
But his chatacter and what he brings
On the team is tramendous

Giannis will learn a lot from him.

As Zisis is very experienced and has
A high Basketball IQ he will a perfect Mentor

Zisis was Part of the Gold Euro team 2005 and
Silver World cup team 2006 and bronze Euro 2009

In 2006 did not play the finals and semi vs USA
Because andersen varejao
Ellbowed him in First round

You got to be crazy to not want Jabari to work out with Team USA, remember what it did for Michel Redd. Being around so many great players can't be anything but good for a young player like Jabari.

ANT1 greek Television will Cover the World cup
And Preparation games

I Posted a link above

http://www.antennanews.gr

But you will Need a greek IP
Unfortunately

But you can buy a greek IP in the net
Just Google it

Under greek IP Television
You can buy the ANT1 Stream also

Did not test it yet

When i find other Solutions i will Post them

The World cup himself will broadcasted
By the FIBA
You can buy the global League Pass of fiba
Costs about 100 euro a year
And inlcudes euroleague also
And of course all the fiba tournaments

I have this fiba Pass and i am quite ok with it
Much cheaper than League Pass of nba
But quality and functions of nba Pass
Are still better

Fiba pass is still a good Solution
There is Archive functions also

I am old enough to watch the rhapsody of 1987. Galis will always comes 1st, he bring the basketball to every Greek house, and those legendary teams of Aris are one of my favorites ever, but Diamantidis won more than him with his team and the NT. Much more versatile, and dominate his era more than Gkalis. He was never the best player of his era, Petrovic, Sabonis, where better. Diamantidis was during his prime. He was playing only on the one side of the court. Diamantidis showed us that D can be fun too. Now as far as about Papaloukas, was a better pure PG, but not the overall better player.

Anyway guys sorry that am getting of topic, just a history lesson (if you care) about the history of Greek basketball. For those who wants to learn who was Galis, Red Auerbach said that his only mistake as a coach is that didn't sign him. (good for Greek basketball, but for Boston).

Some highlights of him. He was just 6'0 but a scoring machine, the best finisher ever around the basket as a G

And diamantidis was Best of his class?

Lol

I can name europeans better than him...

You Compared Galis to petrovic the
Greatest european ever
So how can You say diamantidis
Better tha Galis....

Petrovic himself Said that Galis
Is equal to him

Do not Compared the 80s and the 00s

DD had one of the Best greek teams
Around him Galis plaid basically
with 4 others

And on Club Level
Galis and Giannakis vs
Monster yougoslavian teams
Is not the same like PAO
Vs the others

O can give You thousand more reason
But obiously you are a pao Fan
So this is waste of Time

Just dont fool the People about Galis
And Respect the Greatest of all times in
Greek Basketball

Diamantidis did much less on national team
That on Club Level and you know that

(I am not an olympiacos Fan ;))

I dont want to stay of topic anymore
the above discussion has been Held
In Greek Forums thousand times
So not worth it

Man that dude took so many bad shots and forced so many shots it's a good thing he always made them because it's the difference between him looking like Pistol Pete and not some horrible chucker. Idk who a good example of a Greek chucker would be so I'll keep it American and say... Brandon Jennings.

Just watched the vid

Typical Galis shots

Galis used to wait for
The Defender on fast breaks
To get an AND1 :D

That is why he Took
Bad shots quite often :D

There is videos showing
Him go against 5
And score :D

Today impossible
Back than just Galis

Galis never dunked in game.
That is why a lot of People thaught
he cant.
One Time in warm up he dunked standing
under the Basket without Running
and everbody was like WTF :D

Non Greek who has watched European basketball for many years...to say Diamantidis is the best player to never play in the NBA is absolutely OUTRAGEOUS. This isn't a Panathinaikos fan forum.

He isn't even at all comparable to Greek players like Galis, Giannakis, Spanoulis. Even I would take prime Papaloukas over him, but I guess it is debatable on what kind of player you like.

But this does not even mention so many other great Greek players that played. I mean Fassoulas the Greek player for examples was one of the best centers Europe ever saw.

Anyway, calling him "best player to never play in NBA".......

OK this does not even count as

Drazen Dalipgaic
Kresimir Cosic
Dino Menegin
Emiliano Rodriguez
Juan Antonio Corbalan
Sergey Belov
Antonello Riva

I can name probably many, many others and just keep going, but you get the point.

Please, this is just a crazy talk that will only be heard ever being said in the Panathinaikos fans and their media, which is all owned by their owner. Their fans are losing their minds obviously, due to that their club controls their league, their federation, their refs, and owns even whole media sports companies in Greece.

Immediately this forum needs to control any Greeks that come here and start talking about Diamantidis before it gets out of hand. That is a warning. They try to take control of every European forum they go on with their incessant trolling. They are known as DOF (Diamantidis Only fans).

So, let's say the Bucks stand pat. How good does Giannis have to be to win us 10-15 more games? What was Kobe's second season?

For reference, Kobe doubled his scoring average in his second year. I still like that comparison to get myself Utah jazzed about Giannis' potential.
