I must say, after somewhat being excited that the Bucks website hasn't included red in the past few months, I was quite disappointed to see Edens and Lasry wearing Bucks gear with the red involved.

How'd you feel when this guy was still wearing purple 10 years after they changed colors?

With Lasry:

Q: So are those the top two on the Bucks draft board?
A: Yea I'd say so if Embiid is healthy.

Q: I would think the Cavs take him if he is healthy....
A: I don't see them passing him if he is healthy.

Surprised he was so forthcoming about Parker being at the top. I think it is a given we end up drafting him.

Please be some elaborate and brilliant smoke screen.....

From Edens:
Q: Do you guys have it narrowed down to your top 2 in the draft?
A: Not yet but we are discussing that tomorrow. We'll work out and meet with the top 3, maybe top 4.

Q: Do you think Embiid will come in for a workout with the Bucks?
A: I talked to him for 15 minutes on the phone today and I absolutely think he will. He is a great kid and has crazy talent.

Q: Any plans to rebrand logo or uniforms?
A: I like the old logo (then proceeded to point to the alternate logo with the triangle and antlers).

Talked about training staff and medical and said that is one of his top priorities and that he would be very hands on getting that first class with resources and people.

Thanks for the info and questions, Justin!

what i've learned over the years is most rich people (not pro athletes, reality stars, or spoiled kids of wealthy people), but like people who actually built up their wealth and empire are the ones who care about fashion the least. they don't need the validation so they're just like eff it and do whatever they want.

always funny how it's the middle class/lower class people who tend to spend the most on clothes

Really looking forward to more posts like JustinCredible as people make their way home. I'm sure ESBF wiggled his way over to the boys for a quick chat.

IF he's being honest, and this open about it, then I'm worried about how smart these guys really are. And IF Edens was being honest about his appraisal of Larry Drew this morning, and saying the resumes of the people at the top of the organization are good resumes, then it may be time to temper our excitement in these guys.

Of course these are some big "ifs". We'll know soon enough.

Had a lot of fun at the event tonight.

They positioned this as a night where you could watch the game with Wes and Marc, but I don't think they got to watch a minute. The place was pretty packed, including a lot of media types and Bucks staff, but also a lot of fans.

Wes and Marc were happily taking pictures with everyone and chatting, in fact, they said that they were open to hearing any ideas.

I hug out with GAD, Nowak, Jake Cronus and TheWig, and pretty much anyone who wanted eventaully got a chance to talk with the owners. They were really mixing with the crowd, which I was really happily surprised about becuase they could have easily stayed behind a velvet rope.

I mostly talked with Lasry and told him about how, even in 01 and 11, this city was behind the team when they actually had something to cheer about. I told Lasry that I believed they were going to bring that back and he said he hoped so and they would be working toward making that happen.

Later I got a chance to talk to his son, who was a really nice guy, seemed down to earth. I also spoke with ESBF, JustinCredible, Gardner and Paschke. No Woelfel sightings though!

Really cool that McGullicuddy's had $1 beers until 8. The outdoor back patio was a great place to host the event.

I think Wes and Marc can walk away from tonight seeing that there is a deep passion for this team in this community and I hope they feel even better about this city and our team!

Also wanted to add that Edens made it a point to mention how excited he is about the 2nd round of the draft and who they can add there too. He said the 31st pick has a ton of value since it comes without a guaranteed contract.

I told him to tell Hammond how that works. Then I asked him if he ever heard of RealGM and he said, "Well we are committed to Hammond through the draft but we'll be looking at getting a real GM after that."

Just kidding on that 2nd paragraph. Haha

Lasry seemed to LOVE the night. He really liked the attention and talking with folks. I don't mean that in a negative way at all. Very happy guy.

Also, to whoever changed the thread title with the update. Edens called Embiid....not Lasry. Although it is quite possible they both did.

1- Justin broke news tonight getting Edens to mention that he spoke personally with Joel Embiid today. Props.

2- This is why this is a new era. Embiid is taking the call from Edens. Our two new owners are smart and they aren't going to let stuttering John try to get his medical records alone.

3 - As I said in the other thread, L&E are making this #2 selection themselves after input from the basketball side.

I'm starting to get a feel for these guys. Edens strikes me as the more well-spoken of the two in front of the media. He seems like the straight-laced owner that you'd like voting for your team at the NBA Governor Meetings.

Lasry seems like the guy you put on a private jet with a free agent you are wooing. He will name drop Obama/Clinton, talk about his college bball career, talk about playing Poker with Hollywood elites, and tell you everything you want to hear.

I think they'll make a nice pair and hopefully utilize their strengths to balance each other.
We're going to turn this team around 360 degrees.
