Booker would be fine, on a team whose perimeter defense doesn't require a player to run around like an insane person.

This is not that team.

We need a guy that can make his own shot, and at 6-5, we could insert him at either the 1 or the 2 and he could hold his own on defense. Kaminsky would generate interest around the state but he would be a defensive liability of the highest caliber.

unless some other fall, Jones or Payne who should both go lotto, he seems to be the most reasonable option.
Cauley-Stein could be there but I dont like him at all, so I'd probably pass if I were Milwaukee.

Anybody who thinks that Kaminsky's defense is going to be that much of a liability didn't watch the final four and national championship games. Sure he'll never be a great shot blocker and he needs to put on a little bit of weight but there wasn't one big man all season who dominated Kaminsky in the post. He's a solid, smart position defender who's supposed "lack of athleticism" is blown way out of proportion.

I'm really liking this kid, good find. I'm a sucker for two way players. He's not incredibly long, but certainly not small. His 34" standing vert is super impressive for a guy his size.

What's the likelihood (at this point) that one or more of the top Center prospects slides? Okafor & Towns currently appear to be a lock for 1 & 2, but WCS, Turner, Kaminsky, maybe even Lyles could shift around, as their comparative warts are hashed & re-hashed over the next couple of months.

Do you want Lyles? Not sure he is much better than Henson, really. Has better ball handling and some semblance of a shot, but won't make the same defensive plays. I'm hoping he goes before and pushes some other players down to us.

Lyles is much worse than Henson.

That's kind of what I was fishing for. Even if every team above the Bucks picks BPA, their concept of "best" may be considerably different than the next one. Even if media consensus has the picks fall a certain way, there's always seems to be someone who slides, or rises (Anthony Bennett....).

I'd love for the Bucks to pick a C at 17, but i wish Kris Dunn would have stayed in the draft. Regardless of what MCW does/does not do next season - right now - I could easily live with Dunn or Grant as the Bucks pick.

At #17, I'm not in love with any of them - just find a guy with talent that can fit

I'm still bummed that Poeltl is returning to school, tho it's probably better for him. Even if he didn't fall to us, he would've pushed one more guy our way. Not super thrilled where we're picking as of now. Tho I'd still be pretty happy with Tyus Jones at that slot.

I agree Poeltl going back to Utah is not good for us. Not only did i like Poeltl but most likely Bucks need to trade up a few slots if we want one of the skilled centers now.

DX has Iowa F Aaron White going to us at 46. I wasn't even aware he was a serious draft candidate. He's a pretty typical 3/4 tweener, his body sorta sucks, and he's not much of a shooter, but he's a monster in transition and a great finisher around the rim. He goes hard at the basket is generally a pretty smart player. IIRC he hsd one of the best TS% in CBB this season. I don't know if I'd pick him with our only 2nd but I just thought I'd share. If we lacked depth at the forward spots he'd be intriguing as a potential Faried-esque spark off the bench.

I think the jury is still really out on him when you think about how bizarrely he was used by Kentucky. He's a true power forward, with his secondary position being center, and they utilized him as a small forward just cuz they needed to get him on the court. His best abilities offensively were in the post and as a mid range slasher. Those opportunities were limited for him with Towns, WCS, and Johnson in there. He's also guarding wings instead of posts. The idea he could do that is kind of impressive. As he was overall kind of at the MCDAA game. I think he's a boom-bust pick we or others would be fine with in the mid 1st. He's a better option in that category than Turner if doctors don't determine his injuries are fixable.
