Re: GT:Bucks v. Warrior - Summer League - Friday at 3:30pm C
I can't believe people are still calling Jabari fat. He's muscular for an NBA player and he has a layer of fat over his muscles which is why he has such a puffy look. He's pretty much in the moderately lean category, whereas most NBA players are in the lean category.
http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/body_fat_categories.htm
If he's going to play the 4, he needs to have a little extra fat on him so he doesn't get abused by power forwards. The ideal situation would be for him to turn the fat into muscle, but if you know anything about training and fitness that's very difficult to do. He'd have to lean out first which means losing both fat and a little bit of muscle and then he'd have to start bulking up after that (gaining muscle). As an NBA player, he'd probably fail if he attempted to do that. The first thing he'd have to do would be to cut carbs and increase his protein intake. Cutting carbs would reduce his energy levels and a reduction of energy levels would mean a reduction of his performance on the court. Some people also don't even have the genetics to stay lean like Griffin year round and the ones who don't have the genetics have to work very hard to maintain a physique like that. As an NBA player, having a good build probably isn't a top priority for him nor is it necessary. Patrick Young has the body type that everyone wants Parker to have and he'd be lucky if he makes an NBA roster. If Parker simply lost his body fat while trying to maintain strength (the most realistic scenario for him) he'd probably end up with a build similar to Melo's which is too small for a power forward. The bottom line is that he's perfect the way he is. He'll be able to guard 4s and he'll be a match-up nightmare for them as well.

That Jabari is in the moderately lean category like that guy.
"THE MODERATELY LEAN CATEGORY
When you move into the moderately lean category (13-20% for males, 23-30% for females) you will start seeing some muscular shape and definition, but it will take on a softer appearance rather than being more solid. This is a healthy range to be in and you will help offset many diseases by staying within this range."

No offense Joe, workouts def getting you there, but idk if moderate's the term. Also I think fat Jabari's in way better shape.

Guys there is a different between fat and soft. Jabari is soft and I am fat. It's quite simple.

Just trying to look articulate for the camera, I feel you Joseph. You must've bagged the lady you originally took that pic for.
