Bucks vs Celtics - Game 7 in 87

I was taking a trip back to the 80's and found the fourth quarter of this game on YT. It was taped by a Celtic fan as I assume it's Tommy Heinshon doing color.

*edit - Johnny Most, not Heinshon.

All I know is damn, it made me happy we had Patchke and McGloklin for years. His voice is irritating and oh my lord, he is a homer. Anytime the Celts missed, it was a foul against humanity. Anytime the Bucks scored the refs let them get away with another.

Oy.

This game made me sick.

We had it won. It was ours. Onto the ECF.

But it wasn't to be.

At the 16:30 mark, Moncrief is apparantly, without doubt, a sneaky, dirty player.

I know he's apparently a "legend" but Johnny Most has an incredibly annoying voice. It hurts to listen to the guy. He should've quit chain smoking years earlier.

The voice wouldn't bother me as much if it wasn't constantly whining. I watched about half of it and he was bitching about fouls on every possession. Take all the homer-ness of Paschke and Johnny Mac, multiply by 1000 and you might be close. That's awful.

Cool seeing some vintage Sikma Perm battling.

Most was about as monotone as you can get. I used to listen to NBA games on the radio in the late 70s and catch Most on WBZ in Boston. They onely time I think he ever changed his pitch was when "Havlicek stole the ball"

I used to listen to Celtic games in the late sixties, and I doubt there has ever been a bigger homer announcer than Most. But he was loved in Boston. And it's true, to listen to Most, a Celtic player never fouled anybody while Celtics players endured the worst form of abuse from other players without ever getting any calls.

I was two months from being born. I literally crapped my pants in the womb. Yes I wore pants in the womb.

Meconium, the 'fancy word' for crapping in the womb. Luckily, you didn't aspirate that shizz at birth. It's bad.... mmkay.

Anywho, glad you didn't... I appreciate your posts!!!

Yeah but that's cause your not a celtic fan. He's an incredible homer. But as a Celtic fan it's funny. We enjoy it. He has the best job. Sit there root for your team (blatantly) & get paid to show your homerism.

Fans of 29 all can't stand him (understandable) but Celtic fans love him. He's great, funny, always wants us to play faster & be an up & down team. He's really smart, just the biggest celtic fan in life.

In the 80's it seemed like every year they battled the Celtics in the conference finals. I went to my share of playoff games with them

If someone besides Auerbach in the west or a bad team in the east would have had the genius to draft Bird after his junior year, the 80s east would have belonged to the Sixers and Bucks pre 1988.
