This scenario just popped into my head and I figured I'd see how you guys would look at the situation. Let's just say that we are bottom 5 bad next year but for the sake of this argument both Giannis and Parker look to have as much promise as ever. We'd all be happy with that but while being bottom 5 bad Sanders also returns to being a full blown DPOY candidate while the Bucks finish the season as one of the worst 5 teams in the league due to a bad bench and horrible guard play. We get a little lucky in the lottery and end up picking #2 behind Philly but look set at SF with Giannis and at PF with Parker and have a DPOY level guy in Sanders. What do we do in a draft that is big man heavy at the top????
Would you guys want to trade Sanders even if he comes back to his DPOY form and draft the best big prospect #2?Or would u want the to Bucks trade down a few spots in the draft to get a guard prospect and another asset???? Obviously I have Mudiay going to Philly if they end up picking #1.
I'm a little torn on this. There are definatly some really good big man prospects in this draft at the top but I'd just have a hard time trading a DPOY level rim protecter that fits in so perfectly with Giannis and Parker. Was curious to know what you guys would think of the situation I laid out and what you think we should do.... It's really not all that far fetched

Re: Lets just say Sanders returns to DPOY form
If Sanders returns to DPOY level and plays a full season Bucks are winning at least 35 games and likely make the playoffs. That's how good he was two years ago.
And then we enter the conundrum of "Do we cash out while his value is high or keep him because he's playing at an elite level?"......I don't know....but if we could get an unprotected Top 5 pick for Sanders personally I would pull the trigger and say draft Okafor and pair him and Jabari for the next decade.

Re: Lets just say Sanders returns to DPOY form
Larry could be a great defender and still not make us a good defensive team depending on the rotation we use. We have a heap of bad defenders on the team. To answer the OP I guess it would depend on the guys at the top of the draft. I've only seen Karl Towns and he looked incredibly talented offensively but not so much on the other ends and IIRC Okafor has a similar rep. Basically if there's an Embiid type prospect there who looks like he can be a defensive anchor with some upside on the offensive end then yeah I'm trading Larry but if we are looking at Al Jefferson types then nah trade the pick.
