I hadn't been considering that the Suns (or any other team really) would value Dudley at all considering we got a 1st for just taking him.

However, this AZ Central article that Bleacher Report piece (for what it's worth) linked to sure makes a big deal about how high they were on him only a year ago:

http://www.azcentral.com/sports/suns/ar ... ck_check=1

Dudley, who became an essential player, popular teammate and a fan favorite over nearly five seasons with the Suns.

Dudley’s court savvy kept him on the floor, bringing effort, intelligence and those “athletic hands” to the defense and 3-point shooting and smart play to the offense, which also was graded with those occasional rim-skimming dunks from a 6-foot-7 wing with a horizontal game.

The influence of Steve Nash and Grant Hill helped Dudley become a fitter player and his scoring and rebounding averages improved annually over his first four Phoenix seasons.

I had been thinking that Middleton would be likely to be included in any kind of Bledsoe deal. But maybe not.

Just read that Zoran Dragic might play in the NBA next season. If you have the chance to get a player named Zoran, you do it and worry about if he can play later.

Suns are rumored to want a PF. They signed Tolliver as stretch 4 to replace Frye so Ersan isn’t wanted at his salary. Boston is headed for rebuild so will move Green for picks. Rockets need PG & backup 5 and have cap space to absorb salary.

MIL- OUT- Knight Zaza Dudley 1st
----------IN- Bledsoe 2nd
HOU- OUT- 1st, 2nd
-----------IN- Knight, Zaza
BOS- OUT- Green
-----------IN- 1stLP, 1stLP,
PHX- OUT- Bledsoe 2nd
----------IN- Green Dudley

Why do Rox need a point guard (not that Knight really is)? Pat Beverly is fine, unless looking for a big upgrade (which Knight is not) and I doubt giving up a 1st and 2nd makes sense.

Pass. Although I do like the idea of adding Zaza a little bit but there are other centers out there.

Do you really have Jeff Green returning TWO first round picks? I haven't seen him play in a while, but that appears to be ludicrious for Boston to unload 9M of salary this year and get two picks back for a guy that averaged 17 pts but a per in the 13's. Something tells me that is not a quality player.

how are the bucks going to dump two contracts for bledsoe and a 2nd? knight and a 1st is not enough to cover the cost.

We can, but it gets awfully complicated with four teams involved and lots of players too.

It doesn't specify which Bucks 1st it is but if it's 2015 I'm not interested. I'd wait and see what happens. I don't think Houston is interested in taking on that salary though and as someone else said, why does Boston get 2 1sts for a crappy player

I wouldn't trade two firsts each protected 1-29 for Jeff Green.

I'd take him on while tanking for a 1st I guess.

Did the Bucks get or give the 1st rd pick? I just read on si.com a small quote from Dudley about being a professional whether u play for a contender or a rebuilder and after his quote the writer said that Dudley was traded to Milwaukee for Delfino, Miroslav and a 1st round pick. I thought we acquired the pick? Can someone confirm this please.

The 2017 pick was acquired by the Bucks, 1-15 protected 17, 18, 19 then reverts to a 2nd in 2020 and a 2nd in 2021 iirc

Thank you I appreciate it. I was confused for a second because I started thinking I wasn't 100% sure what was officially confirmed, I know there were questions on that before. So just to clarify it's likely a 2017 1st round pick probably in the mid 20 range if LAC continues the way they are going 2 years from now, right?

Yes, best hope for us is that they finish 8th in the West in one of those 3 years....but a good return for paying out Dudley 1 year of 4.25m if we can't/won't move him. Also saved 500k this year in salary

Yeah I thought it was a decent trade truthfully. Dudley is probably the best "movable" player involved and a future 1st is always nice.

I'm hoping this was a small asset collection to boost a Bledsoe trade. Dudley spent 5yrs in PHX and was apparently a fan favorite there as well so maybe it intertwines? Maybe I'm grasping at straws trying to really like a minor move, idk.

What did Phoenix give up to get Bledsoe? I think the 2017 first rounder, Dudley, and Ers likely gets the deal done. I think we are overvaluing Bledsoe's market a bit.

Players who are traded have a trade restriction for a period of time where they can only be traded in a 1 player for 1 player deal, right?

Now that wouldn't necessarily prohibit Dudley going to Phoenix in a deal for Bledsoe. But it would complicate it.

On the flipside I could see the Suns insisting on Middleton in any potential Bledsoe to the Bucks scenarios, which would preclude Dudley heading that way as is.

Personally at this point I think Phoenix jumps at an offer of Ersan, Middleton and that Clippers pick, with us taking Bledsoe back at 4/$63
