Well nba league pass has an app for PS4, xbox, roku, and apple tv. Can't you just stream through your apple tv?

Short of running through a VPN is there any way to get your local teams games on league pass.

I suspended my direct TV for the summer and don't miss it at all but not sure what I'm going to do once the NBA starts back up.

Comcast is trying to get in the streaming/cord cutting game. http://www.wsj.com/articles/comcast-launches-streaming-service-for-cord-cutting-customers-1436788422?mod=e2fb

I think there is a pretty good chance of full channel a la carte via streaming services in 5 years. And it will be a thing of beauty.

I have an older Apple TV version II. There is an NBA icon in the menu there but it never offers LP games or NBA TV, just a bunch of old highlights should I chose to watch them.

Maybe someone else can clarify? Does the version 3 of Apple TV support League Pass?

thx

Not sure about Apple TV, but I believe my Roku allows for League Pass games. There is a log in option when you open the app.

So Roku gives you full LP ability? Does it also have NBA TV? May need to go Roku then if I cut the cord entirely.

I don't think it has NBA TV. That is why I recently opened the app, to see if I could possibly catch Bucks Summer League on it. I think it just has LP capability along with the highlights etc. you were referencing earlier.

I watched LP on my apple TV last year. And no, neither roku or apple tv have NBA TV. They have the same app.

New options for streaming NBA games: http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/13300681/nba-offer-single-game-pay-per-view-telecasts-699

Single games for $6.99 and team package for $119.99. I don't have a lot of time to watch games so the team package seems like a decent option.

When I didn't have cable I used my Apple TV to stream Bucks games two years ago. The stream quality was absolutely trash. Had to sit through a lot of games where it just froze up and I had to load up the game over and over. Hopefully it's better now for those of you who use that as an option for games.

For those of you interested in cutting the cord or like me who cut it but miss certain things:

Legacy Direct has Beyond TV

You pay a one time fee and after that NO MONTHLY FEES

You get every NFL, NBA, MLB game livestream for free.

You get all premium channels (HBO, Cinemax, Showtime, Starz...etc) livestream for free. You can see Game of Thrones live

You get not only your local channels but local channels from around the world.

Cable channels like food network, AMC, Comedy Central, MTV, VH1....etc

Want to know more, inbox me. We have a live demo Sunday and I can show you anytime you want.

There is a one time fee and no money ever needed after that.

Do you have to pay for out of market streaming services? I would assume so?

No there are no payments outside of the initial fee for the box. Nothing else after!

So I would get League Pass/MLB.TV/etc?

You can get league pass on amazon fire but the deal breaker for me was a three+ day lag on local games. I wouldn't have minded if I could watch the replay after the game or even the next game but once you have games piling up it wasn't worth it.

If you're only using it for the occasional big game that isn't on TV, it's not really that much IMO. I'd gladly pay $7 to watch a game if it's a strong enough matchup.

Kind of a bummer that they got rid of the 5 team package; makes the decision between just getting the Bucks for $120 or all teams for $200 more difficult. I rarely watched any other teams last year, but on paper, it's obviously a much better value to get all teams.

$7 should get you LP for a day. I'll be using ballstreams, but the idea of paying $14 to watch 2 games in a day seems weird to me.

So basically still worthless if you live in MKE area and you are still forced to use services that violate NBA rules.

Legacy Direct looks like a nice option. I'm surprised with the high quality for live games since my streams are alway low definition; I'm a little skeptical.

I admit to being a terrible judge of talent and having minimal knowledge of the game of basketball.
