Bucks Vs Team X Draft

Post#1 » by LTD » Tue Oct 28, 2014 4:43 am

We have a fair amount of conversation regarding the value of our roster versus other teams. For example, would you trade the Bucks roster for the Magic roster? This weekend I was thinking about this differently. What if we took two teams and had a draft? Which team would have the highest picks? If the board is interested, I thought we could go team by team for some fun.

For guard rails, assume your goal is to have the most competitive team possible over the next 8 years. This doesn't mean year one has to be the most competitive, just the aggregate from year 1 through year 8.

Let's start with the Timberwolves since we've had some debate on this already.

My picks in order going 10 deep.

1. Parker - Bucks
2. Wiggins - Wolves
3. Giannis - Bucks
4. Rubio - Wolves
5. Sanders - Bucks
6. LaVine - Wolves
7. Dieng - Wolves
8. Middleton - Bucks
9. Knight - Bucks
10. Bennett - Wolves

Analysis: exactly 5 Bucks and 5 Wolves but 2 Bucks in my top 3. Notable omission is Pek, who I don't like for lack of rim protection. Even still, I think the Wolves have more players with upside potential.

Have fun!

Not sure the point, and even your conclusion was confusing (the Bucks have the #1 overall player and three of the top five, but the wolves have more upside?), but I guess I'll roll with it.

1 - Giannis (Bucks)
2 - Wiggins (Wolves)
3 - Parker (Bucks)
4 - Sanders (Bucks)
5 - Rubio (Wolves)
6 - Pek (Wolves)
7 - Middleton (Bucks)
8 - Dieng (Wolves)
9 - Wolters (Bucks)
10 - Henson (Bucks)

LaVine is awful. He's going to be one of the worst players in the entire league.

Wolves have a couple more low floor, high ceiling players in LaVine and Bennett.

How so? He can hit the three and has physical tools. Sounds like good building blocks to me.

Maybe if his name was Denise instead of Dennis.

yet giannis is a future star? because of what his length and speed? because his shot and on ball defense and lack of ball handling isnt anywhere near lavine's

1. Jabari
2. Wiggins
(Big Gap)
3. Giannis

And those are the only three that really matter to me. Both teams have some other talent that is decent/well above average in guys like Sanders, Pek, Middleton and Rubio. But I don't really view those guys as long-term impact players so much as they are going to develop into role players on a title contender or trade bait.

So I'll go with the Bucks.

going from end to end isnt exactly showing off all of his ball handles. thats just him out running players

I didn't bother to argue with any of your points. As you typed that it reads that Lavine has a greater lack of handles than Giannis.

LaVine sucks, he's all tools. He was atrocious at UCLA last year aside from like the first 7 games and he still sucks now. He's bouncy and has good shot form and literally is all he has going for him.

Lavine is a smaller Gerald Green before Gerald Green put it together.
