Official 2014-2015 College Basketball Thread

Post#1 » by PkrsBcksGphsMqt » Tue Nov 11, 2014 5:14 pm

With Friday being the official start of the season, I figured I'd get this thread started.

I'm personally stoked for the Minnesota v. Louisville game Friday night. Pitino v. Pitino. Louisville lost a ton and Minnesota only lost one major contributor. Hoping for a good game.

Otherwise it will be interesting to see if Wisconsin lives up to the highest expectations in school history and whether Wojo can coach as well as he can recruit.

Can't wait!

Expectations are very high for UW and they'll be a high seed but that's what makes the tourney so damn fun, lose once and go home. Expectations are on the oppositive end for the Warriors. Hopefully this is the one and only season of the UWM Panthers Arena :)
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Anyone else think about this movie every time you see Coach Wojo on the sidelines?

Pushed to the brink by the New Jeresy Institute of Technology. It might be a long season for MU.

What's NJIT's nickname? My guess is Spray Tans.

Solid start for the B1G last night. Two road wins, including Rutgers over Clemson, which is pretty surprising considering they scored a total of 26 points against Virginia.

Anyone else a little surprised at the B1G's success against the ACC so far? I thought this was going to be a really, really down year for the B1G, but it's looking like the conference could be a little stronger than initially anticipated.

Well what are we talking about, here, though?

Michigan edged a down Cuse team at home. Rutgers/Clemson/etc. may have all been in games that went the Big 10's favor but they are all barely CIT or whatever that 4th tier tournament is. I caught a bit of your Big 10 team last night and they didn't even look to be playing their best ball but Wake looked like a D3 team and their stadium was filled accordingly.

So, we'll see. What I've learned so far is that the ACC is complete garbage at the bottom now, so you might have a point on that so far. It may mean that Rutgers and Purdue may be more competitive than we thought.

But, "down year for the BIG" could still be quite true. Michigan didn't impress me, OSU is kinda meh so far, MSU hasn't jumped out, so that statement could still be correct. You could have UW finishing top 10 but nobody else looking like a threat come March. Of course, that could majorly change. MSU could be a Final Four team as usual.

Is there a more overrated coach or program than Roy Williams and Unc. Every year they start top 10 and drop in the rankings. They have so much talent but seem to underperform.
