OT: Black Friday Deals

Not to appear like I'm on a high horse or anything, but I hope you all know that any electronic you buy this weekend is likely to be junk. Stores get in special models this time of year, even if it's just changed by a number. These products will have less components, crappier hardware, whatever. A lot of electronic stores also gradually increase prices weeks leading up to this weekend so they can slap a higher discount tag on it. Some just outright lie and don't change their prices at all. I've worked enough retail to know this is not a myth by any means. Why people still go nuts on these days is so far beyond me. Looking for games/dvds/small components is one thing, but stay the hell away from TVs, tablets, and laptops. Unless you enjoy the thrill of buying cheap electronics that sound expensive every other year.

Agree to a certain extent. You have to look at what is in it. And maybe not expect the same quality. However if I can get a 1080p 120hz 65" smart TV for $650 or a 50 inch TV for $220 for a work shop; I am probably going to get it. Is it the newest technology or best on the market. Hell no. Will I be able to get a good picture on a really big f'ing screen at an unbelievably discounted price. Hell yeah.

Yeah, I got a the toshiba 50" from Amazon for $199. I'm not expecting a top of the line tv (and don't really need one) but I thought it was a hell of deal for what I paid.

The caveat is upper deck corners and baseline seats only. I'd buy a 10 pack if lower level seats were this discounted, but unfortunately, ticket prices are way jacked up this year and I'll probably end up going to maybe 1 game.

The secondary market really dried up this year. Cheapest ticket I found online was $25 for the game Saturday night. In the past, I could get eBay or stubhub tickets for less in the lower level. Not sure if this has to do with new ticket policies, lack of free tickets, or if sales are up.

I don't think you'll ever see lower level seats at a price like that, but it would be nice if there were at least middle sections in the upper level available. Those corners and baseline tickets should be $8 face value year round. 9 times out of 10, I'd rather watch from home than sit in those sections. I know that sounds snobby, but those seats are pretty bad.

For a die-hard fan, a lot of the times it is worse going to the games. I like up to the minute stats for everything from rebounds to turnovers. I think they have been better this year showing replays of controversial calls. In the past, they would flat out refuse to show a fight or questionable call. It would get to the point of why pay to go to games when you can't see what is going on.

I really hope the new arena focuses on updating the fan experience with high-tech wifi and other ways to get fans to go to the game.

I'm not sure what "TW Deal" means, but I did purchase a January game and got free Hornets tickets. They came in the mail a couple of weeks ago.
