Jabari Parker - Cleared to play 11/4

Post#1 » by steger_3434 » Tue Dec 16, 2014 12:13 pm

Went to bed at halftime and woke up to this horrible news. Really hoping it's only a week or two but it sounds much worse. I use this board for all things bucks so can we post all updated news here rather than sifting through the post game thread?

Yeah, after first impressions I'm guessing the team docs feel that everything is intact.

That's what I'm clinging to.

If it was what we all think it was, wouldn't that be announced right away

An ACL tear is very easy to diagnose, the MRI is just for confirmation. My wife tore her ACL three weeks ago and the doctor diagnosed it immediately.

Thanks jez. I endured last season for parker or wiggins. Parker was the only reason I was excited for this year. Giannis to a lesser extent but the rest of this team could get traded today and I wouldn't care. My mind hasn't let me accept this as a major injury yet and has me hoping for just a week out as a precaution :(

Hopefully we changed medical staffs when we changed owners. Otherwise we may not get the straight scoop for awhile. A long while.

Oh man, I'm so sorry to hear this. I hope it remains a sprain but only the MRI will say for sure.

I really wish that anybody in the local media actually liked basketball and the Bucks enough to cover them, competently.

My hope is that youth saves him. His injury isn't too much different than Kyrie's was last week and he came out and played in the 4th. Even if it isn't severe I hope they hold him out for a while. Like MD said I REALLY hope that we've hired a new medical staff under new ownership.

Thought that these tweets were the most insightful

“@ProFootballDoc: By video JABARI PARKER appears to dislocate kneecap causing knee to buckle. Possible surgery vs rehab. ACL seems to be ok”

Except the MRI will tell the answer right away. When I tore mine, I personally knew it right then and it was less pain and more fear. I took the MRI and got the results the next day so I don't think it should take more than a couple days at the most.

I really hope it's just a sprain and a scare.

I think i read in an article that we changed doctors. Also hired a psychologist.
Anyway ACL tears can be diagnosed immediately on site.MRI will just confirm the diagnosis but it needs the swelling to go down.

I'm the same way in that I pretty much only care about Jabari and Giannis, to the point that I get seriously frustrated when they go long stretches on the bench.
Once, when asked if he was concerned about his former coach Nate McMillan commenting that he has a selfish attitude, Jerome James replied, "I don't even know what he's talking about, I just worry about Jerome."

I know it can be diagnosed immediately with an MRI but under the former regime we were never given straight answers on injuries, going back to T.J.

If this does come down to a surgery vs rehab issue, it's easy for me to say but I hope like hell he goes under the knife.

The last three Bucks picks I have got really excited about have all got crippled now!

TJ Ford's spine got exploded after he looked awesome.
Bogut finally started to be the anti-pube and he destroyed his arm.
Now Porker's knee is dead.

I fear for Giannis.
