I can't compare him to Thomas. Timmy's skill set was insane. He could do just about anything on the court as a basketball player if he wanted. Ray Allen wasn't kidding when he said Thomas was as talented as anyone in the game at the time. In terms of pure talent, Timmy had it in a big way. He just lacked the heart to push himself to be great.

Henson reminds me more of Gadz. I think he's more talented whereas Gadz had a higher motor. But I'm not sure if what we're seeing from Henson is an indication he's taking another step or if he'll revert back to being a Gadz-type reserve big who could be easily replaceable and shouldn't be overvalued or overpaid.

Henson is the reason this series is 3-2 and not 4-0. the other guys have been doing pretty much what it is they do. its henson thats stepped up and taken us this next level defensively down the stretch. with that kind of impact, at that position....hes no tim Thomas.

Package him with our first. His play has been admirable but he still makes a lot of bad plays and you only have to look back to the beginning of the series to see the other John Henson that you can get and will get during most of the regular season.

John Henson plays a few games of solid basketball in which he is not his usual, inconsistent self. Citizens rejoice, declare explosion. I expect Henson to remain who he has always been. I would also never feel comfortable relying on John Henson.

I'd find a team that valued him as a starting center and use him and our pick to move up in the draft. Something like #17 + Henson to Bobcats for their #9th pick. Then use our cap space on a stop gap center like - Robin Lopez or Brandon Wright

Yeah, if something like this becomes available, I'd be very down with that idea. As is, I'll just enjoy his recent play as long as it continues.

As others have said, I am tired of his inconsistency and his laziness. He will revert back to his old self as soon as the spotlight is off him or when he gets "bored" and frustrated with his role.
Move him, along with draft picks to get a guy we actually need and want. Find a replacement bench big in free agency when we are actually ready to contend.

He's a role player, who can be a really valuable one on good nights. He's not terrible like some people here would have you believe at times, he's definitely not a starter.

ya, good rundown. He should have motivation next year, he does scare me a little though as someone that could drop back after he gets a contract. If they could get good value wouldn't mind seeing them trade him. As mentioned above the motivation/motor issues.

Ditto, I would also consider throwing Ennis into the deal if we could get a little higher and there was someone we liked. I have this dream of Mudiay dropping to 5 somehow and us trading up for him.

I'd offer him a 3/$24 extension in the offseason. If he took it, we'd have a good backup C who might get more valuable in the years ahead. Take his salary next year of $3mm and add in those extra years and you'd have him locked up for 4-years at an average of about $6.8mm per.

If he doesn't want a lifetime security extension like that, then let him play out next year into restricted free agency.

And I say that with a full realization of his importance in this series thus far. I just know I don't want to pay big bucks to a guy as inconsistent as Henson. Do as the two above state.
We're going to turn this team around 360 degrees.

I'd be okay with drafting Kaminsky and extending Henson, and hoping they can fill our C minutes effectively.

Pair him and bayless as a trade package for an upgrade at jump shooting.
Draft a center to work the rotations of Plum/zaza

I don't trust him at all with a giant paycheck.

With that said, we have played our best ball with him this season when he was starting.

I'd probably sell high if there was something worth actually trading him for available.

Needs a jumpshot and to get bigger.

Give him another year in Kidd's system and see what you have.

Hopefully he's a lottery pick in this years draft.
