The only way a player like MDJ is going to stop taking these sort of dirty cheap shots is if you tip the scales far enough as far as consequences that it's not worth it.

In this situation he got exactly what he wanted. He injured the Bucks PG, got their best player ejected, and even got the same guy he injured with another cheap shot later on, well after the score was so lopsided he should have been out of the game. Even if he had been suspended for 1 game, it's still worth it to get the Bulls through the 1st round in a series that had suddenly become much closer.

The bottom line is you can't give players incentive to start throwing punches and chopping guys in the neck, and yet that's exactly what's happened here. Does anyone think he gets off with no suspension if he punched Lebron in the face going up for a layup and chipped his tooth?
