Re: ATL/NBA Finals
Mostly to PP...
The league has completely changed. Defenses don't allow option A to beat them. Often they are able to limit options B and C too. The FMVP named a week ago was a bench player all year that Cle elected NOT TO GUARD. Saying a guy should be able to carry his team in the West to 45 games when they are outscored by 8.6pp100p when he is out is 90s ball. It doesn't work like that anymore. Especially in the West. I mean a team with Westbrook, Durant, and Ibaka just missed the playoffs this year.

I suspect he'll consider his options, but end up returning to Cleveland.

Kevin, you will look amazing next to Paul Pierce and Robin Lopez. Think of your future stats.

Re: ATL/NBA Finals
Just curious what you guys think of this trade proposed on the trade board:
Miami out:
Bosh, Wade, Birdman. Chalmers, #10
In: Cousins, Middleton (S&T), Mayo, Plumlee
Sac out:
Cousins, Thompson, Landry, #6
In: Bosh, Wade, Zaza
Milwaukee out:
Middleton (s&t), Mayo, zaza
In: Birdman, Chalmers, Landry, Thompson, rights to #6, rights to #10
I wouldn't do it, but I'm curious what other Bucks fans think.

Depends on who's sitting at 6. I'd consider it if Mudiay is sitting there.

I wonder if they'd be willing to remove some/all of the protection on their 2017 draft pick.

That core is ripe with the potential of winning 46 games....in the East.
No idea how either Love or Celtics fans would be even remotely excited about that possibility Unless they plan on going after another max money player in 2016 (Durant?).

Re: ATL/NBA Finals
Don't see how that's even close to fair value for Sacramento. It reminds me of when people would propose awful bucks trades using the rationale of "your FO is stupid so how about you give us your best assets for crap".
In terms of value for the bucks, it entirely hinges on who is available at 6. 6 is the point where if unexpected stuff happens, a great prospect can slide. We keep hearing rumors of porzingis going top 3 and maybe WCS going 4th. That means that okafor, mudiay, hezonja, Winslow are all potentially in play depending on the 5th pick. Can't really say no to jahlil/manny/justice plus 10 for khris.

Would not do it. The picks are nice, but we'd be taking on too much garbage to give up Middleton.

Cleveland remains the frontrunner to sign Love to a five-year, $100M-plus extension, but Love could be willing to hear out Celtics, Lakers.

Re: ATL/NBA Finals
It makes no sense for Love to sign a long term extension this summer. Better idea is signing a two year deal somewhere with an opt out.

Not sure why Love would sign long-term. Would have to think he plans to sign another 1 year deal.

Re: ATL/NBA Finals
Of some significance, David West opted out. If Hibbert does too, Indiana could have over $20 mil in cap space I think.
And West could be an interesting option for a contender/team in need of veteran presence.

Chalmers and Birman are expiring contracts, an even swap for Mayo and Zaza. Thompson and Landry have two years left on their deals. Not great. But I'd consider taking them on if that means I could add Okafor/Mudiay/Winslow and a Myles Turner at 10.

If Ainge posted his ideas on the Celtics real gm forum, I bet he would get called a noob and told his ideas are sporadic and too wild to actually happen.
