I'm very hopeful that **** will get done, but if it doesn't a piece of me will die. The piece of me that had hope the once great city and state could be relevant in a new global economy. Unfortunately, that hope has been fading for many years and the Bucks leaving will be a resounding confirmation that the lawmakers are more interested in their own well-being than whom they represent. Sad. And pathetic.

As much as I love the Bucks I don't think this will be a devastating blow to Milwaukee. My favorites cities don't have major sports teams, so they end up producing other forms of entertainment making them unique. The problem is the city/state just can't seem to get their stuff together to make things happen in a way to make the city better no matter what it is.

If there was ever a time for a SaveOurBucks billboard it's now. I would guess the vast majority of people don't realize we're about to lose the MILWAUKEE BUCKS!!!

This is actually a big deal if you think about it.

Yep. These guys wouldn't be taking steps like this if they weren't confident everything is moving forward. So excited for the next 3 years. Hoping for health for everyone. Stepping into a new arena as either champs or right on the verge.

Buying a small lot for under a million isn't really something that means anything one way or another. If the arena doesn't happen, they just sell the lot. Very little risk.

In the Senate, Vos said he expects to need 3, 4 or 5 Democratic votes to pass. He then said he expects to have around 35 Republican votes in the Assembly to pass arena. Democratic support will most likely be needed in Assembly as well. Needs 50 votes total to pass. I thought he already had the votes in the Assembly, but he definitely stressed the importance of bipartisanship votes on his interview on The Big 920 a few minutes ago.

I'm sure they have much better inside information than us. If the deal didn't look like it was going to happen, why waste your time in the first place, even if it is a small lot? Just another hassle someone has to deal with.

There will be some R's who will vote for this if their D counterparts in the Milwaukee area in the Assembly will as well.

It's a game of chicken. One side won't commit unless the other side does too. Otherwise they can expect the "he voted to give millions of YOUR tax dollars to BILLIONAIRES" ads next year during the elections. The Dems are still smarting from those attack ads and that was over a very small amount for the Bradley Center and new scoreboard.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.
