If it means whether or not it's going to be in the budget, are we expecting them to say no considering it's already out of the budget? I'm so confused.

No. The arena provision has already been removed from the budget and the budget passed through Joint Finance last night. That now heads to the full Legislature for vote.

This is a separate vote on the arena deal, and it starts with it getting through the Joint Finance Committee on Monday. If it passes there, then it will head to the full Legislature for a vote.

Right, Monday the 16 member (12 R and 4 D) Joint Finance Committee will discuss and debate the bill. If it gets 9 votes, it will move on to the full Senate for a vote maybe as early as Wednesday. If the Senate approves, then it will be voted on by the Assembly late in the week.

One week from today we could have an approved arena bill sitting on Gov. Walker's desk to sign. Or we could have world war III on our hands in Madison.

How confident are we that it passes the JFC?

Actually JFC is really going to be a good test. Big arena opponent Dean Knudson is on there and a couple other out-state GOP'ers that he might bring along.

But Lena Taylor and Chris Taylor are on there as D's along with Gordon Hintz. We might be able to get those 3 D's. I'm less certain on Erpenbach from Madison.

The JFC is 12 GOP and 4 Dems. While this plan may pass the JFC as is I can't see it passing the full Senate and Assembly as is. The Dems will want some changes even if they don't make sense so they can say they had some input on it. No way Dems vote for the current plan that they were completely shut out of for the past few months.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Mary Czaja is against it too, correct? I'm looking up the members of the JFC and trying to recall who is against any public funding. I want to say Tom Tiffany and Luther Olsen are as well, but I'm not completely sure. And Knudson is obviously against it.

Senator Larson (D-Milwaukee) had this to say:

"At a press conference this week, Fitzgerald opined that Democratic Senators from Milwaukee need to support a plan for the Bucks arena in order for it to pass. Democratic legislators from Milwaukee and across the state have been open to working with our Republican colleagues to negotiate a deal on the arena that is in the best interest of both the taxpayers and the city of Milwaukee. It was only last week that Republican Senate leaders were willing to start preliminary discussions about the deal with those who directly represent the communities surrounding its proposed location. As you may know, Legislative Republicans finally unveiled details of the latest Bucks arena plan this past Monday.

Like many across Wisconsin, I am still going through the details of the proposal and will keep pushing for transparency and public scrutiny as this issue continues to unfold. Democrats remain willing to work with Republicans on the arena, however, it is disappointing that our continuous calls for inclusion were ignored for so long.

If done right, I believe the project could be great for Milwaukee and the state."

A couple votes away from the best offseason in Bucks history.

Once this arena wraps up, I think it's going to be the third happiest I'll ever be in my sports fandom. Packers winning Super Bowl, Badgers beating Kentucky and then the arena.

Playing the waiting game now. Like somebody said above this could be the greatest Bucks off-season ever.

I didn't see this posted anywhere else, but the city is moving forward. I think this still needs full council approval, but a good first start nonetheless.

Has there been any additional info released about the press conference the Bucks are having with UW Madison tomorrow?
