Listened to the presser clips, safe to say Stan is pretty pumped to have Ersan. Great deal for both parties.

Detroit still needs to do more just to stay at the same lousy level they were at last season - since Monroe is likely leaving. They actually improved after Josh Smith was cut. They still desperately need a quality small forward.

And Stan, go on whatever diet Jeff's on. How are they brothers - they don't look or sound at all alike.

Maybe Stan is the perfect coach for Ersan. He can be his Turkolu , maybe.

I'll be interested to see how Ersan's game changes under SVG. We all know he loves his shooters but nearly every guy like that he's had has been a straight up gunner from three and well Ersan can shoot he's seriously reserved with his looks. Guys like Shard, Turkoglu and Ryan Anderson were all shooting nearly double the amount of threes Ersan did.

Ersan deserves a hearty standing applause when introduced in his first game back here.

A rousing and spontaneous ovation even.

I am mildly excited to watch what SVG is building around Drummund. If he adds even a sliver of perimiter skills, Detroit could impress. Any thoughts on what they will do in the draft? I am guessing SVG would love to get rid of Jennings.

Hopefully Arsen can finally reach his potential at age 31.

I'm giving you a playful shoulder shove to recognize your sarcasm.

I personally believe the Arsen Ilyasov story. There aren't many GUYS with the name "Ilyasova".....guys end their name with "ov" and the gals end their name with the "ova"....seems like a sloppy/hasty name change to me.

EDIT: To prove my point I searched the name "Ilyasova" on Eastern Europe's biggest social site vk.com ---- there are 19,431 people registered with that name ---- 19,109 are listed as female. It is doubtful he was born with that name.

It's done several times during 90's and 00's with players of ex-USSR, we in Greece gave fake passports at Savrasenko, Ledkov (the ex-Phoenix C J. Tsakalides), Nesterovic, Stojakovic and at the case of Tsakalides and Savrasenko, fake ages as well, so I believe it.

I'm gonna start to stand up, but just go half way. Then go back down. Then I'll finally stand all the way up to complete the ovation. A pump-fake ovation, if you will.

Someone should make a farewell pump-faking Ersan gif a la the jab-stepping Salmons...
