Here at the Common Council hearing. People already filing in, Common Ground is being represented well.

No clue what their position will be. But Peter Feigin just showed up and saw me in my Bucks gear and shook my hand.

Thanks for the updates. If you get a chance, ask Feigin when we can expect to see arena renderings.

Is anyone here? I'm only seeing Common Ground.

Common Ground has taken over the entire place. I'm currently sitting in an overflow room.

Common Ground is still against public funding of the arena unless $80 million is invested by the city to youth play areas.

It seems like Common Ground is mostly comprised of retired people. They've probably been camped out since 9AM to get the best seats.

Any way you can quote some excerpts? I don't subscribe. I'd love to see what they are complaining about. Maybe this is why renderings and complete plants haven't been released? From what we have seen, I can't see why there are major complaints.

How about we reinvest $80M of the tax money Common Ground generates into new playgrounds.

Wait, what's that? They don't generate any? They just want a completely unrelated free handout for their constituency? Huh. Who'da thunk.

They must be pissed that this meeting is taking place during their dinner time.

Arena Bill Debate -ASSEMBLY PASSES BILL 52-34

Post#2994 » by Stoltz3 » Mon Aug 31, 2015 11:01 pm

Some guy just said the arena looks like a loaf of bread with blinking lights. He then went on saying that we should replace the Bucks with the Badgers and have them play in the NBA. I'm not kidding.

I guess I really don't see Common Ground as having any leverage in this at all. The City of Milwaukee has a 1.51 billion dollar annual budget, and if you don't like how the money is being spent then elect better people to run it. Where were these protesters when the City was lighting money on fire for the Midwest Express Center, the MECCA, and the Milwaukee Theater? I would bet that all three of those facilities are being run at a loss right now, as in they don't even bring in as much money as they cost to run annually.
