TrueHoop TV: The Revenge of Khris Middleton

Post#1 » by BobbyLight » Wed Aug 19, 2015 7:16 pm

Back again with another "it's August and there's nothing else to talk about so I'll post this".

Henry Abbot had the inventor of Real +/- on to talk about why Khris Middleton was ranked so highly for being a "no name" player. I wish to God I could say he provided a great, in depth answer, but he did not.

The Bucks are better with Khris Middleton on the court than off.

I'm not sure where the revenge part comes in, Khris doesn't seem the type to seek any form of vengeance, especially not in relation to a stat that shows him favorably.

There you go, but if you'd like to watch anyhow, here's the link. I don't think we can embed ESPN videos.

I forget sometimes how smooth/athletic Khris is - watching the highlights - the blow by dunks and reverse layups it really has added to his game and made the competition defend more than just his jump shot. I feel he easily is a top 5 2G in the NBA.

What do you guys/gals think about the contract? $70 mil/5 years?

It is really mind boggling talking that kind of $ to play basketball. I'll never get my arms around these kinds of salaries, but I understand why they are what they are - for better or worse.

Worth mentioning that he looks great in all the RAPM type stats not just JE's single season, boxscore tainted stuff. :)

It doesn't surprise me that the Bucks are much better with Middleton on the floor than without him, he fits this team perfectly. I think he's well worth the contract to the Bucks but I wouldn't pay that much if I was another team that didn't need that type of player.

People don't understand how good Middleton is. I think I get way more defensive about him than I do about Giannis. I'd EASILY take what he gave us last year over what guys like Oladipo/Beal/Derozan/Ellis gave their teams last year.

Absolutely love the fact Tim Grgurich is around to coach up these young guys on our team. I was around the team during the Big 3 years when Karl brought Grg's aboard and I saw him interact with players with a huge amount of enthusiasm and support at the end of the bench. He's a pure coach in every sense of the word. The players love him because he makes them better. He pushes them to maximize their talent and he coaches them tough.

Kudos to J Kidd for bringing him aboard.
We're going to turn this team around 360 degrees.

A team that isn't built around length and is completely devoid of three point shooting from the rest of their starting four.

Let me be clear, Middleton is a good player who would help any team in the NBA. He is not an All-Star caliber player and he is more valuable to the Bucks than he would be to any other team in the league.

The Bucks are lucky to have him, but Middleton is also very lucky to be on the Bucks.

I completely disagree, I think he could start at 2 or 3 for just about any team with winning aspirations. Great size at 6'8, great shooter, and proven that he is a top notch positional and help defender. I dont know what the market for his services were like during free agency but im sure he couldve gone out to market and found a similar if not better deal.

I don't like Towns. Not sure why. I feel he's got some Bynum issues. Maybe that is unfair. But the whole imaginary friend that sits on his shoulder and he talks to and has given a name to. Has thrown me off of him.

I also wouldn't trade him for Russell. I may eat crow on that one. But value Khris more than him. I value Porzingus and Mudiay lower than Russell. So there's that.

I'd trade anybody on the Milwaukee Bucks for Towns.

I concur - and I'm a Wizards fan. Beal might eventually be better (He just turned 22), but he ain't right now. Beal will almost certainly get a bigger contract next offseason than Middleton got.

Yeah, Towns - not Okafor. I'm not sure Okafor will be much if any better than Greg Monroe.
