Makes sense to avoid the Kidd will take over as GM rumors that keep popping up.

Hammond and his staff have been instrumental in reshaping the Bucks young core of talent into an Eastern Conference contender.

Im fine with this for his drafting alone, Kidd is running the show trade wise either way so its no big deal. Vaughn looks like he could be another Hammond gem.

It's deserved. For all the flak that Hammond received during the Kohl years, he's shown what he can do when given the mandate of a proper rebuild and re-shaped the roster into arguably the best under-25 core in the league.

Turning Brandon Jennings into Middleton, MCW, Plumlee, and Ennis alone warrants praise.

Monroe is a huge get too, and resigning Middleton, not sure how instrumental Hammond is in that but certainly worth hanging onto.

Whatever you can say about Hammond from 2 years ago has more or less been erased for me. We can all question who says what goes behind the scenes, but the Kidd/Hammond team has made moves that I think have almost all been good. The draft pick for GV and not taking the draft pick for Knight are the two that I'm not sure I'm crazy about.

Really, when this team traded Knight last year... something literally no one saw coming, that proved to me that we were in very good hands with our management. From the owners down to Kidd and Hammond. They made a move that was 100% aimed at the future AND got rid of a player that may have looked great via the eye test, but clearly wasn't what this team needed.

I'm the original Hammond detractor. (Cue Chauncey Gardner avatar)

That said I'm 100% fine with this. I think Hammond's role has now been transitioned to one he can succeed in.

Some casual fans and media can still call him "GM" and pretend he's doing what he still did from 2008-2014. But the reality is that LED and Kidd are calling the shots and Hammond is now functioning in a supporting role for them, for which I think he is likely doing well at.

Would seem like Morway and Hammond both had a year to audition for that role, and Hammond won out.

I know it's already been said, but Hammond can draft and that's all I care about with Kidd / the owners basically running everything else.

Either that, or Morway wants more power, whereas Hammond is just happy to have a job. He's the perfect "yes man" puppet for Kidd and Co.

If you think about it, how many GMs are gonna wanna come here anyways knowing that Kidd is largely in charge of the personnel decisions?

I'm good with this. Why rock the boat at this point. Give it a bit and see what dude can do without his hands tied behind his back. Great drafter.

I think the "yes man puppet" that people like to throw around is interesting.

2/5th's of our starting 5 is due to nothing other than Hammond moves and one of those guys could be like... the best. I doubt Kohl was sitting around making sure Middleton was part of that trade and that we just had to take Giannis.

I get that there's a ton of questionable stuff but we have one of the most desirable young starting lineups in the league, 2/5th's which he was directly responsible for. Jabari is the 1/5th that's just a no brainer, can't give credit to Kidd or Hammond (all credit due to Drew). I'd give credit to Kidd for getting MCW and I don't see Monrow coming here without Kidd being here, either.

Just saying, Hammond has made real-life, big impact moves that no one can look at and say there were "yes man" or puppet moves.
