Looks like the name is live and they're rolling with it.

The name really sucks. First thing to fix.

As long as they play the good stuff and not Rock The Casbah, I'm okay with this.

Marketing team gets an F for the name. Maybe they were trying to be unique and/or edgy. It's just lame.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Thing is, 'Clash' doesn't even describe a group of people...or an area...or anything like that. It's just silly.

That name is almost as lame as people dunking off a trampoline.

That's the biggest issue with the name, for sure. I have not seen or heard any explanation as to why this name was chosen for us or what it is supposed to mean.

My best guess is that the Bucks got stuck on the idea of using "Cream City" and seemingly fell into an alliteration trap.

Apart from that, I've never been a big fan of too much focus on the "Cream City" nickname, since that has its roots from "Cream City Bricks" and I've never liked the idea with associating something to do with "bricks" with a basketball team, considering what "bricks" mean in basketball...

Ultimately, we'll overcome whatever we're called. Certainly Sector 7 was a terrible name and we persevered. It would certainly would be preferable to have a name that helps us from a marketing and branding standpoint. We haven't had that since Squad 6 was our name, and of course we squandered the quality brand we had built with that name because the franchise let scapegoating and bitterness towards Bogut override good business acumen, despite my vocal objections at the time.

When this thread initially went up, I thought this was some type of "3 on 3" tournament in the Third Ward.

I do think Squad 6 should be the name. The 6th man thing works really well. But I understand the Bucks trying to use cream as one of their primary franchise colors and this helps tie that in.

In any event, sneak back in the Vuvuzela horns for the fourth quarter of big games and I'm good. 8-)

Hopefully you guys have good tryouts. This group should fill out like it did in 2010 given the competitiveness of the team.

Wickett and Chuck were talking about this a bit ago....said they should get rid of the cheering section or move them upstairs. They said they'll be going back to the topic at 845 if you want to call in to discuss and give feedback.

Again, not trying to be a dick, but has there been any solid confirmation that this is legit? It could be completely fine, but several red flags have jumped out at me. Please consider the facts below:

- The Bucks have a very active Twitter account and haven't mentioned this once.
- On the graphic posted in this thread, it says to visit Bucks.com for more info....nothing listed on Bucks.com
- The guy who started this thread, claiming to be a Bucks employee, doesn't have a Bucks email account.
- If you google "Cream City Clash" the only things that come up are this thread and a Twitter account with a link to a Facebook group.
- On said Twitter account are the following tweets discouraging people from contacting players or coaches about the group.

[tweet]https://twitter.com/creamcityclash/status/651852821860642816[/tweet]

Maybe I'm being too critical and suspicious, but something seems off about this.

The irony to me is they describe Cream city clash as "bucks fan squad" which the words to describe the group are a better name than the group name.

Also to describe their name they still had to use the word squad.

Hopefully they get enough crap the name dies quickly and by next year we have a new name.

I really thought we would end up just being called "Milwaukee Bucks Fan Squad" (which is what we took to calling ourselves last year) or "Milwaukee Bucks Ultimate Fan Squad" (which is what we were originally advertised as last season while we were awaiting a name).

I mean, we changed the name of our dance team last year from the goofy name "Energee" to "Milwaukee Bucks Dancers" so I would have thought similar logic would have been applied.

I initially read Cream City Crush and thought it was a flavor of the day ice cream.

Thank goodness that got rid of the name Energee. That was always laughable.
