Yup. I'm charging at work while listening to music. I don't want bluetooth buds nor do I want to have to buy something new to plug into the lightning port. I don't see what Apple gains by eliminating the headphone jack.

Surprised it took Apple this long to try to make up for not being able to bend people over on proprietary charging cords anymore. No doubt in my mind they will come out with some crazy priced headphone to take advantage of not giving consumers a choice in the matter .... again. No doubt in my mind this is a profit move much more than a technology move. Otherwise they would offer both options. I've never bought into the hype and I'm old and cranky and will hold a 'screw Apple' mindset for as long as possible. To think back on how much money they made on $1 items that sold for $30 in those early years makes my head spin. They should be jailed.

Put that link above into VLC to watch the event on Windows or Android devices. It won't work until the event starts at noon central. It's a legal stream that's sent to Apple TV devices. If you have Windows 10 and Edge, you are good to go at apple.com/live.

Maybe an HDMI audio extractor. I would do research on this though, some people had luck with the AppleTV4, others didn't.

Those new ear pods are ugly. And I don't need something else that needs to be charged. Getting rid of the headphone jack was dumb.

Why did Apple remove the 3.5mm headphone jack? Schiller says "courage." "Courage to move on."
