I'd love to see the Bucks waive Novak, make him an Assistant / Shooting Coach and then we sign either R.J. Hunter or James Young, which ever guy ends up getting waived by the Celtics. I doubt that will happen, but I think it makes much more sense to develop a young guard, considering Vaughn at this point is looking more and more like Shawn Respert than actual NBA player. I've been intrigued by Hunter and Young, and would be a low risk, potentially high reward type of move. A forward thinking move rather than a keeping a guy like Novak which feels more like a Herb Kohl signing.

"The final spot is expected to come down to R.J. Hunter and James Young, both of whom have been solid in the preseason which has made this one of the tougher roster decisions the Celtics have had to make under fourth-year coach Brad Stevens."

I'm not sure what your asking, sure he can be traded this year. As far as picking up his option for next year we have to decide that this year by the end of the month.

Can the Bucks take him off their hands? Apparently comes with a Jordan Mcrae who looked solid in preseason

No I meant that we could decline the option for this season which I had never heard of right before the season starts. Disregard.

As cutdown looms, the Celtics continue to offer James Young or RJ Hunter for a second-round pick, league sources tell @TheVertical.

They are trying to dump Mo's $2.1946mil expiring contract for a player on a nonguaranteed deal so that they can cut that player and save tax dollars

Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed, to me:
I lift my lamp beside the golden door.

None of Hunter, Young, or Vaughn belong in the best basketball league in the world. If we cut Vaughn, it should be for someone who can play.

Couldn't disagree more. Hunter and Young were strong in the Summer League, young has played well in the preseason and Hunter has been outstanding.

The Bucks should trade a 2nd for Hunter. That's a far better option than the inevitable sale of the pick.

I'd take RJ Hunter here, but that's almost 100% because I liked him coming out of the draft and am just pretending all of his NBA experience to this point doesn't actually exist.
