Way to get my hopes up when I read the thread title. Then I saw the date.

Kidd just signed an extension. We're stuck with him for awhile.

Was completely expecting to see Kidd had left or was rumored to be promoted to POBO this off season. Sneaky thread bump to cause a little excitement

Nate's a season ticket holder who drives down to games from Green Bay. I'm guessing after yesterday he felt the need to troll a bit.

It's easy to bump threads from 2008. Just look at the list of threads and go to a different page of them. You can quickly jump to page 2 or 3 of course, but you can also jump to the very last page of available threads. Lots of Redd ti's on page 591. That Yi guy looks like a player, too.

Haha, yeah with the Kidd Q Rating diminishing I felt this could drum some conversation. Sadly 9 years later, I'd take 2 of those 3 candidates probably. I'm not sure what to think about Kidd. I like that he is connected and can bring in recent stars to talk to the team, etc but sometimes I feel like our rotations are puzzling and the team isn't as crisp as they should be. Then again, I guess our 2 best players are VERY young to his defense.

I could only imagine how good this team would be with Carlisle as the coach.

Actually Kidd's a newly arrived baby compared to another, ahem, member of the Bucks front office referenced in the opening article from nine years ago.

Hammond's had Skiles, Boylan, Drew, and now Kidd under or side by side with him in that time.

And I'd probably take Kidd over all three of those guys quite easily. I guess we can decide whether that's a compliment or not. Give me an NBA coach that players want to play for, rather than an over-bearing disciplinarian (Skiles), a meek-minded career assistant (Boylan), or complete and utter incompetence (Drew). But then again, are those guys viewed the same if they had these current versions of Giannis and Jabari leading the charge?

I'll say something that I'm sure will ruffle some feathers amongst those who worship at the alter of Popovich and Brad Stevens. Coaching is overrated when it comes to winning championships in the NBA. Rudy Tomjanovich was the opposite of a savant when it came to scheme, yet he won back-to-back titles just by basically being a guy that players liked. Never mind that these two also have "championship coach" on their resume:

Those two examples don't really make sense considering both of these teams took off in large part because of coaching. Not them directly, but coaching nonetheless.

In Doc's case, it was Thibs' defensive schemes. At the time the dude was the most brilliant defensive mind in the game and it was a combination of him and KG developing the by far #1 defense in the game (by almost 3 points ahead of #2). Then of course when Thibs went to Chicago the dude elevated a middle of the pack defense to tied for #1 his first year there.

In Lue's case, when Cleveland went on a big run last year, Lue straight up said in a post game presser that the biggest adjustment he made was forcing the team to adopt the motion sets of David Blatt's offense that they simply never ran because LeBron and Kyrie kept freestyling it.

Both of those examples only highlight how impactful coaching is. Not just the head coach, but assistant coaches too. It's mindblowing to me that we can see this elementary school offense and blatantly exposed defense on a nightly basis and we're stiiiiill questioning how important coaching is or how bad Kidd really. It's a major problem and if we don't make a change, it's going to seriously limit the ceiling of this team.

I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.
