It's not like Gordon is devoid of any and all PG ability. No way would I want him in that role, but I wouldn't put it past him to become a very solid playmaker at the position.

None, and good point. I should have stated it this way ... why take a relatively low ceiling guy (as compared to a Randolph or Jordan) at a position where he's going to get very few minutes because of Max, where his size is going to be a significant issue, and who doesn't have the skills necessary to play more than one position?

CDR? Or, if that is too high to draft a player who is ready to play, look to trade down. Look at Williams/Mason/#8 for LaFrenz/Rights to Rudy Fernandez/#13/#33.

Or, trade the pick with one of our young 'potentials' and filler, for a proven player. Like, Yi/Simmons/#8 for Jefferson/Sean Williams/#21.

There's no need to go for someone ready now as opposed to someone with nice upside. We could take Beasley and still not be a legit contender for three years.

I have no idea why so many people think Kevin Love is so good.

How many 6'7"/6'8" guys who are subpar athletes for the NBA are playing at a high level right now at the PF/C position? I certainly can't think of one.

Totally. I mean, Love is what? 6'6"? 6'5"? How many 6'4" centers have there ever been? What is this, 1940? There's no way a 6'2" center with no feet and an inability to spell his own name can possibly succeed in the NBA. The last short center to do anything was Wes Unseld, and he was at least a foot taller than Love. I don't want Muggsy Bogues as our starting center.

When was the last time a midget made an NBA roster?

Kevin Love: shrinking by the second.

Sadly you haven't answered the question. You are dreaming if you think Love is legitimately 6'9"... And even if he was, how many poor athletes are there at the 4/5 that are only 6'9" that are playing well?

I still can't think of one.

I will actually predict right now that Love is at least 6-9.5 in shoes.

Right- Love??

*and to answer your question? obviously not. Other then them 2, i think its safe to say hammond will take somebody reasonable, and i will trust his judgment. I just dont like the No defense part of Gallinari, and Love i wouldnt mind as much... but he isnt tall enough to be a C (6-9), and not athletic enough to be a PF[/img]

Apparently Kevin Love has shot up an inch or two since the college season ended, I must have not been paying attention.

Regardless... I still can't think of a 6'9.5" guy who is as nonathletic as Love that is making an impact in the NBA right now. So if he magically measures in at that height, I still wouldn't select him.

Kevin Love
Ht: 6-10
Wt: 271

You're right, you must not have been paying attention.

Who the hell has ever been 3 inches shorter, in shoes, than they were listed????? Cognitive dissonant opinion is what that is.

Most sites have him listed at 6'9", which I still don't believe.

I guess you think Michael Redd is actually 6'6" and not really 6'4"-6'5"... And I bet you think Allen Iverson is 6'0" and not 5'10". :)

Well, then it's all relative. Why is Love held to a different standard than anyone else? Michael Redd measured at 6'4.5" w/out shoes as a recall. So if Love is 6'8.5" without shoes, he's basically 6'10" as far as the NBA is concerned. He's going to match up against power forwards who are 6'8" to 6'11".....IN SHOES. Jason Maxiell is 6'5" without shoes for God's sake. Milsap is just over 6'6". Carlos Boozer is 6'7.75". Kevin Love is practically a giant compared to many other power forward. It's a COMPLETE RATIONALIZATION to argue that height is an issue.
