We don't have enough frontcourt depth, we don't have a "bruiser" on the roster to hit the glass.

We don't have a real point guard.

Thankfully Hammond is not done and knows there are still holes to be filled.

My thoughts exactly.

I voted no. Even though Skiles will help a lot, there are still three defensive weak spots in the starting lineup. Hammond and Skiles have both been emphatic that you can have one, but not more than one. So until at least two of those positional weaknesses are addressed defensively, I don't see the Bucks making the playoffs.

I dont think the Bucks make the playoffs either but they are moving in the right direction.

Another solid trade or two that helps us become a better ''basketball team'' and I think we could be looking at a playoff spot this season.

I trust John Hammond will make the right moves between now and October to make the Bucks a playoff team in May of 2009.

This team breezes to the playoffs in the East. No doubt about it.

I think that's a good way to put it.

This team will be in the playoffs no doubt with just the addition of Jefferson. Not having a good SF for the past few years may have made everybody forget that position, but having actual production there and with all the scorers we have, we could be Denver East even without Skiles' defensive instruction.

Do people really expect the 10-15 win improvement that is needed to make the playoffs out of this team?

I could see us winning 35-40 games next season and maybe sneaking in.

I think whether we go over 35-38 wins with the current roster depends on the progress or lack of by Bogut and Sessions.

Looking at the rosters of the other teams in the lottery, we have arguably the worst young talent IMO.

The progression of those two cannot hide the glaring obvious. Our starting backcourt is simply awful. Cannot defend, cannot pass, lacking court awareness. I would move both, even Redd, if Redd continues to be anti-clutch in the upcoming season Bucks will struggle to shift him with his contract.

As awful as they are, they can simply fill up the hoop and do it efficiently. The big question is can Skiles get these guys to start playing even average defense.

12 months makes this forum a very different place. I remember last year many were talking about a playoffs berth. I think it's good we are setting our sights low/being more realistic and actually giving Hammond/Skiles a chance to build by not expecting huge things from day one.

However, I voted 'Yes' as I think we should have made the playoffs last year if there had not been so much of a mess in the coaching department. No doubt we underperformed massively. Considering that, and the substantial upgrade at SF, I'm cautiously optimistic about playoffs. That said, I wouldn't be upset if we missed out if we were playing good team ball with more emphasis on defence.

Yes. Last year team would also make playoffs if we had real head coach like Skiles. HIring of Skiles alone made us playoff team IMO. Trade for RJ make it sure thing
