TI 2 easy deals - Mem & GS/Chi

Post#1 » by eagle13 » Mon Jul 7, 2008 2:40 pm

Mo to GS who send Harrington to Bulls who send Gooden to Bucks.

GS needs PG.
Bulls need scoring

CV to Grizz for Conley or Lowry
Mem has xtra PG w/ Critter and need PF.
Conley & Sessions compete for starting job.

(could enlarge Memphis deal to -
Cv, Dez, Gadz, 2nd for Conley, Darko, Cardinal
Darko 1 year < Gadz
Cardinal 1 year > Dez
Card is crap but we get rid of Gadz and free up $ for 3 yrs from now when we're pinched.)

Use MLE on PF or C (or portion on both)
Add Ivey or Lue or other as 3rd PG

IF we want full 15 man roster maybe add
Ruffin at min sal as bench warmer big and a young min. FA SG

Conley / Sessions / Ivey
Redd / Bell / FA
RJ / Alex / M2
Gooden / MLE / Card
Bogut / Darko / Ruffin

Card & M2 & young PG on Reserve

I want nothing to do with Gooden. I want a guy who can focus on the court and also play consistent defense.. that guy isn't Gooden and hsi huge entourage. committed to Conley so I doubt a package of CV and anything could net him for us. They also

We're not getting Conley unless we threw CV and Alexander at them, they are big on him down there and have no reason to move him after one season. I'm not huge on Gooden but I think he is an upgrade over CV all day long. So I guess if this unlikely trade were to happen I'd welcome it, mostly for the Conley pickup and our Garbage Drop off

I'm not sold on Gooden but he is a good shot at being better than CV. At least Gooden rebounds consistently and plays some D and scores inside. Three things we need from our PF. Gooden either dies or thrives with Skiles. I think RJ & Redd (maybe even Bogut) could have positive affect on his attitude.

At any rate what other PFs that are worth a crap are out there? Haslem? Gooden is FAR more talented but Haslem is probably a better or at least a more certain team guy.

Why not just keep Harrington from GS (although we'd probably have to package Mo and Dez)? Yeah, he's very similar to CV, but at least he shows up every night and is way more athletic than CV. But, either way Gooden would be a move in the right direction as well.

I'm not interested in Conley though. I'm not as sold on him as Memphis is (which is why they wouldn't go for CV straight up)
