Ok...it's a new day. A new game for Joe Alexander. Bucks v. Detroit. Maybe we'll get some Pistons fans over here to tell us about how Amir Johnson will soon be the next Shaq.
If you guys can post some video links that would be great.

I predict the Pistons decide to forfeit the game once they see how *intense* Joe Alexander is in the pre-game shoot around.

Glad to see the sarcastic remarks on our draft pick that has played one SL game continue. Lets not give him a shot, lets just rag the hell out of him instead.

Why the hell would you take offense to the remarks if you know they're sarcastic? Lighten the hell up.

I don't take offense to it, I just find it embarassing that this is all our fans can come up with regarding Alexander, and the fact that the majority of the fanbase has been eager and willing to trash the hell out of the guy we drafted after one summer league game. And if you don't think people are trashing him, there is a 30 page thread you can read.

Let's just hope that JA shows some legitimate basketball skills tonight. I hope Hammond didn't draft an And1 tour dunker at #8. Goodness, I wish we'd drafted Bayless as the BPA.

I didn't see that game Luke but from the sounds of it Alexander showed nothing against players who were drafted lower than him or D-Leaguers. Excuse everybody for expecting more, even in a summer league game for their recent lottery pick.

He played a number of college games too. 82 in fact, more than any lottery pick other than Rush.
Some of us didn't like the pick or think JA would be a good NBA player long before the SL game. There is nothing irrational about the fact that we have a different opinion than you. We aren't taking one Summer League game as evidence that he sucks. But, as people who were skeptical to begin with, his horrendous play against Summer League scrubs didn't do anything to change or opinion or assuage our doubts.
I hope he does well in the future and I'm sure he'll play better than he did the other night (it would be hard not to). But, as a skeptic, I'm going to need convincing before I am willing to believe he will even be a decent NBA player.

I don't think many were calling Joe a bust in the other thread. Most were like me, just saying that he sucked in that one game, and that he probably won't be a huge difference maker in year 1. He could still be very good or very bad down the road, like most lotto picks.

Re: Game Thread:Bucks v. Pistons 5pm CST tonight
Janero Moon? (that's gotta be close to his name) is a handy player and he's a similar guy. Lots of hops and limited offense. Maybe that's what we drafted.

I think you mean Jamario Moon. I think that Alexander is going to have to prove quite a bit at the NBA level before he can be compared to anyone who has had success taking the step up. I think that Alexander will benefit from having better quality around him, because, as of right now, he looks like a role player.

I hope he has a better game tonight. I have high hopes for him as he grows and develops in this league but I am also balanced enough to know he is going to have plenty games where he looks terrible in the process.

Re: Game Thread:Bucks v. Pistons 5pm CST tonight
So according to a majority of the board on the first game thread (Luke23 and a couple others not included), the rest of Joe's career will be determined this week in Las Vegas. If Matt Frieje hits a few more 3s maybe we should start him at PF instead? I wonder how devastating it will be to some here if Bayless ever has an off night shooting in July?
I'm a huge believer in JA, but i kind of hope he has another off game in a meaningless summer league game otherwise this board will be boring for a couple of days while all the haters disappear.
