why do they keep throwing oops off the backboard when theres a defender in the way?

9 shots in 12 minutes? Nice job max. 4th most shot attempts in the second to least amount of minutes.

Can't beat a US victory AND a chance to bash Redd. It's utopia.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

You have to admit, this performance is not that great. The guy was brought on the team to be the designated outside shooter.....

Well, last year at the Tournament of the Americas Redd played great. We got excited and he turned into as big a chucker as ever.

This year he's not playing well whatsoever in the Olympics. Maybe he'll be a better player when the season starts?

Redd is clearly saving himself for the medal round. Any knowledgeable basketball fan should be able to see that.

How sad is it that our max player can't shoot from the outside, yet we're terrified when he takes it to the hole to dunk that he'll get injured.

Coach K obviously sees Redd as the Mariano Rivera of this team, only to be unleashed in circumstances where his contribution is crucial to the win.

Today was just some garbage time to get rid of some rust. Max will be there when the chips are on the line, raining threes, screaming "And One," and giving glory to God.

I knew the game was going to be a complete blowout so I didn't even bother making a game thread because you guys would get bored watching it. 8)

if i had slept more than an hour and a half last night i probably wouldn't have watched it either.

just make sure you make a cool thread for the next game with lots of australian jokes and stereotypes. that should spark some good friendly discussion 8-)

I like Kaman's quote after the game...

"Nobody is going to beat them. No way, it's just not going to happen."

This is the way I look at it, the only way we don't take the gold is...

We shoot so bad from the outside in one game, like 15-25% bad, along with some turnovers and also poor free throw shooting. On top of that the opposing team needs to play a perfect game, take care of the ball and shoot lights out to make it a close game in the end. Even then, it will be tough for the field. The one x factor is this team is a playing exceptional team defense. In previous years we've looked lost on defense.

I know the opponents aren't the same. But in the 5 games, when we have shot under 30% from 3, our average margin of victory is 26(China/Angola). When we shoot over 30%, our average margin of victory is 36(Germany, Spain, Greece). Spain and Greece being 2 of the top other 3 teams in the tourny.

Essentially, we need to pull of a serious choke job not to take the gold. The one team that does concern me is Argentina. They easily have the best NBA players of any other team with Manu, Nocioni, Scola, and Oberto.
"didnt you watch the game with the raptors?bucks is also a playoff team ,they have enough ability to find wins from dalas and utach,
blow jazzs bitches and mavericks bitches out !"
