15 games left this month, we would have to win 9 of them. Yes, we can, in fact, I would be very disappointed if we didn't go 9-6 or better in the remaining games. This is the month we need to make up some ground. 10 of the remaining 15 games are teams under .500, however only 7 of the 15 are at home.

I take 26 wins and I feel very good about it. We have a high percentage of home games the rest of the season and that should guarantee us a slot in the playoffs.

Last year on January 9, 2008 the Bucks were 15-20. Not a world of difference from their 17-19 record today. They still have to play the games. The John Hollinger #5 ranked Bucks will win more than they lose to finish the month. We will see if those are the real Bucks.

There is also the very real possibility that this playoff bound team will have their season disrupted by a major trade. The sudden Damon Jones sightings indicates that something is in the air. Ditto for the sudden increase in PT for Tyron Lue. A trade that involves a major part of the current team - CV or Redd in particular - could significantly impact the Bucks W-L record for the rest of the season.

Perhaps not when looking solely at 15-20 and 17-19, but there has without a DOUBT been a world of difference up to this point in the season as compared to up to this point in the season LAST season.

And even the record itself we are 2.5 games better, which is not at all insignificant especially when you are talking about 35 and 36 games. Factor in the injuries, the schedule, the trends, etc. and it looks very much like a world of difference.
Even if you just took winning percentage and applied it to an 82 game schedule we are talking about 35 wins as opposed to 39 wins. That is lottery versus playoffs most of the last few seasons in the Eastern Conference and likely again this season.

Where are the Bucks this year in regards to the rest of the conference (position, games behind the top spots etc.) versus the same time last year?

Sorry for asking something that is probably easy to look up, I just can't think off the top of my head of where to look (or a concise enough google string!).
