Dunk Contest

Post#1 » by bigkurty » Sat Feb 14, 2009 5:00 am

OK who do you guys (and gals) think wins this thing? What predictions do you have?

I am going to take the dark horse JR. Also I predict Nate Robinson sucks. Seriously what can he do that he hasn't already done? I predict the finals include Howard and JR. I predict that JR pulls off a behind the back dunk like he did in his first dunk contest while doing a 360 to win. Howard I predict does pull out the victoria's secret wings or pirate costume from the commercials for a comedic dunk in the preliminary rounds and it nets him a 49 or 50 just for the comedy of it all. I also predict someone pulls off a nose on the rim or headbutt the rim dunk just to copy JA which will be lame unless its superman himself and then everyone will be like "wow how is that possible?" and JA won't even be mentioned in regards to that dunk.

JR is not a darkhorse in my opinion. I think there's an 80% chance that either he or Dwight win it, with Dwight being the favorite.

Robinson is absolute garbage and he was terrible last year. They could've put Alexander in over him and it would've been really interesting.

True about JR. I guess I called him that due to the way he entered the contest. Why the hell Stern thinks Robinson is a good entrant is beyond me. Agreed on Alexander. Hell even Westbrook would be way more fun to watch than Robinson.

Absolutely right about JR having little time. It's not about the dunks anymore...it's about the dunks and the theme. Robinson was good because he got Spud in there and dunked over him.

Howard sealed it with the Superman cape dunk where he threw it in.

JR won't have anything like this but will have some really nice dunks.

I think Howard is going to have something really great just like the Superman.

Howard repeat. JR will compete though.
