Bogut will not return this season per Woelfel

Post#1 » by paulpressey25 » Thu Feb 19, 2009 5:05 am

This isn't really breaking news, but if you didn't hear it, Woelfel said Bogut would not return this year. The Bucks want him to heal and don't want to even think of taking a chance for some games at the end of April.

Apparently the current diagnosis theory is that he has a condition semi-common in growing children that can make the bones somewhat susceptible to fracture during growth periods. Most kids grow out of it. They are wondering why Bogut still has this at age 24, but it is possible his body is still growing a bit.

Quickly puts on Optimistic Bucks Fan Hat.

Sweet, does this mean Bogut is going to be 7'3" by October?

back in the 70's one of the wise old sayings was never draft a white guy over 7 feet or you'll regret it. that was in the days of Mel Counts. I guess the Bucks never heard that old wise tale.

I think benson and sikma were listed at 6'11.

randy bruer, brad lohaus, Joel Przzybillia, Bogut.

If he's healthy at the end of the season and they are making a playoff push I'd like to see them try to stop him coming back.....

But yeah this makes sense.

Like how the Nets should've passed on Lopez? Was wise a typo that was meant to mean incredibly ignorant?

Hopefully he grows taller!!!!!
When you put on that jersey, the name on the front is more important then the name on the back.

Nah we need him to be tall enough to just reach over from the foul line and drop the ball in the hoop.

Good thinking.

The Bucks should just hold him out of games until he grows to be 7'5"

Then they can also collect $72 million of insurance.

Bogut is slowing slipping into Milwaukee's newest void:

He said White guy. Lopez is half Cuban, I believe the other half is awesomeness of an undetermined origin.

Let's hope then if we do shut him dowm, he doesn't go this summer and play in some world games (or whatever), and come back damaged goods. I wish his playing for his country days are over, or if he gets hurt while playing for them, he gives his money back. NOT from some insurance policy either, out of his own pocket. I say that about everyone now.

Sad to say because I love our guys (Americans) playing in the Olympics, but with the money the guys make now, that process has to be re-thought.

Never understood why some were talking about bringing him back in April if we were still in the playoff race. Could you imagine the backlash if he came back and hurt his back even further?

Everytime the Bucks lose there is some story that throws more gasoline on the fire.

I was optimistic that Bogut could come back yet and I think any games that the new core get to play together will be beneficial.

What a lost year.
"I just wanted to play because I just love the game," Jennings said. "It doesn't matter to me. I get up to play basketball. It's my job. I have to still be a professional and finish the season."
